Elegance Silver Silver Plated Sugar Tongs, 4-1/2"

Let us get the obvious out of the way, I chose twosome instead of pair for alliteration purposes in the headline of this review. There are not two pairs included, a twosome can mean a pair, and a pair of tongs is one object. Anyways, these tongs are perfect, I have been looking to add a pair of sugar lump tongs to my personal absinthe set, and now I have finally gotten around to ordering them, I used them when preparing myself an absinthe-drip for a nightcap, { just a scant hour before writing this particular review, no less} , and they worked perfectly. They are just the right size, they pick up the sugar lumps I use { standard grocer sizes and types, sometimes plain white sugar, sometimes demerara sugar lumps } , the work well, and they don't crush the sugar lump, nor drop it unexpectedly where you don't want it. The design is simple, and the little bit of ornamentation and decoration is just the right amount to be pleasing, while not taking a penny away from the items functionality. It looks very nice with my absinthe set, and I am very much pleased not only with its form, but its function as well.

These little tongs are perfect for my candy bar. After reading some reviews I thought these tongs might be a little flimsy or cheap looking, but they're not. They're actually pretty heavy and bounce back to their open position very well, every time. I have other cheap tongs that are so thin that I've cut myself on the edge while washing them. These tongs are much thicker with smooth edges and the design on the handle is tasteful...not too ornate. I would definitely recommend these tongs.

These are very nice, inexpensive tongs. I said they are inexpensive, not cheap as they look great and so far have kept their sheen. Nice spring to them and fit a sugar cube just right so no groping or dropping.

I bought these to use with small candies rather than sugar cubes. They work pretty well, built pretty solid, and they open wide enough for items a bit larger than typical sugar cubes (roughly 3 cm). I will say that most would probably not mistake these for tongs from a really high quality tea set, but they look pretty good. I've been using them for a while in a candy dish and I haven't had any problems with chipping, which would be my primary concern. I'd definitely recommend these over most sugar tongs I have seen or used.

i love brown sugar in lump form and was looking for a nice little pair of tongs to keep next to the sugar bowl on the table and this pair fills the bill. it's really quite pretty - shiny silver with an embossed design down the arms. it looks far more expensive than it was. nicely balanced and fun to use. now i am truly a fawncy lady!

These sugar tongs are great! I make my own sugar cubes and the tongs can pick up any of the weird shapes I make (hearts, dog paws, etc). They are delicate to give you the feeling of "fanciness", but won't break if you drop them on the floor. Very happy with this purchase and the price is very appropriate.

Nice design, but cheap material. It bends easily when washing it. You need to be careful doing so or you'll break it in a couple of times.

I do an annual ladies tea each year. I have a sugar bowl with sugar cubes, so I needed small silver tongs This table setting is formal and so I needed it to look nice.. These are the perfect size.

It made a great gift for my daughter in law as she likes to host afternoon tea!!

(Very small, definitely for sugar cubes only) This was part of my first review and since I am very fair person I decided to edit/change my first review. After using this little sugar tong a few times I realized that it actually adds some sort of elegance to my tea time. My family is pleased with it so I decided to go ahead and purchase another one. Quality is also good.

So shiny, the perfect size and nice and durable. I was worried about them looking cheap - but they totally don't and completely go with my expensive silver tea set!

Just exactly what I wanted. Well packaged and beautiful.
