What do you mean by a gradual alarm? Looking for an alarm that is not too loud.

The alarm starts with a softer sound and Gradually builds louder if it is not responded to, to be sure you are awaken.

I'm very light sensitive. How low can the illuminating light be set? I would prefer "can barely register".

You can turn the light completely off, so you can also set it very low.

Will the alarm get loud enough to wake a very heavy sleeper?

As I can only speak to my personal experience, I will say that I, too, am a heavy sleeper, and this alarm does wake me.
