Review: Moving. - This is such a fun read. I will make my wife read it. The first quarter of the book is simply superb. There are so many emotions attached. As a parent I was able to relate to it even more. And the love angles, oh my word! they were well done. The writing is fluid as the author makes the reader fall in her web. She is quite a master of it. This is my first book by the author. If her other books are 80% as good, I think we have a winner. one last thing, it is incredible to do a meaningful novel and actually make the reader relate to you. This is not easy at all. very few books manage to do this without sounding conceited ... alas this is one such book that will move almost everyone. If you like this book and want something that is one or two levels above try "invisible life of addie laure" Have fun! Review: poignant and emotional - Reminders of Him is a poignant and emotional story of redemption, forgiveness and love. Colleen Hoover delivers a powerful and realistic portrayal of a young mother who struggles to rebuild her life after prison and reconnect with her daughter. The characters are flawed and complex, and their journey is full of challenges and heartache. I was invested in Kenna and Ledger's relationship, which was sweet and supportive, but also faced a lot of obstacles and judgment. The book also explores the themes of guilt, grief, family and friendship, and how they affect the choices we make. The writing is beautiful and captivating, and the dual timeline adds suspense and depth to the story. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is that I felt that the ending was too rushed and unrealistic. I also thought that some of the sex scenes were unnecessary and detracted from the emotional impact of the story. I would have liked to see more development of Kenna's bond with her daughter and less focus on her physical attraction to Ledger. Overall, this was a moving and memorable read that touched my heart and made me cry. I recommend it to fans of Colleen Hoover and contemporary romance.

Emotional rollercoaster
This one made me cry, smile, feel the joy and appreciate the time cause we never know when this rollercoaster gets to end. I couldn't lay this down, I re-read most of the chapters as I felt I want to sink through those words. I love the fact how no character in the book has been portrayed negatively. It's just like there is no good or evil people, it all comes to time and circumstances for people to be judged for. Totally loved the book... have already recommended it many. Thank you Colleen for another master piece.

Heart-wrenching and incredible!
Kenna Rowan's life now opens to her after five years of prison. Her dream to pursue her only child Diem who is now four years old, will not be easy for her. With no family to look out for and no aspirations to live, Kenna at the age of twenty-six has only hope to find future in Diem. Meanwhile, she meets Ledger who unknowingly turns out a secret person from the past. With their lives intermingling between love and a sense of motherhood, their bond entails a beautiful shared remembrance of beloved Scotty. This novel does wonders with sporadic emotions. Each page gives you a tear to drop, infused with a whirlwind of motherly love. I have been a fan of Hoover's writing since my school and I believed 'It Ends With Us' was my best read from her. But "Reminders of Him" goes far beyond, where my heart had broken into shreds and I am still busy gathering it.

An emotional roller-coaster ride
Every once in a while, comes along a book that shakes you to your very core, makes you ruminate on it and will forever be etched in your heart. This evocative and emotional gem of a book is all of the above. What happens when you feel yourself responsible for the death of someone dearest to you? What happens when you serve a 5 year sentence for the same? What happens when you are not allowed to take one look at the daughter you delivered? What happens when you come back to the same people for redemption? What really happens? This is the story of Kenna, a mother wanting to right a wrongdoing done in her past, wanting to make amends and move forward in life. She meets Ledger along the way and how he becomes her ally, cares for her and helps her get back to her daughter, Diem, despite him being in an unfathomable situation is wonderful. Kenna is one of the most beautifully penned female character I’ve ever read. She is kind, beautiful, strong and resilient carrying the burden of guilt around her. Her yearning to have a glimpse of her child she's never seen, be a part of her life, to be forgiven is so painful and heartbreaking. And her letters to Scotty, what do I say! I have never bawled my eyes out so much while reading. They are raw and gut-wrenching and also extremely endearing the way she writes to him about every little thing in her life. Writing to him is cathartic to her and it is these very letters that bring back her happiness. Ledger is real and the way he struggles with the dilemma of helping Kenna and being loyal to Scotty’s parents is beautifully narrated. You are unsure whether to hate him or love him. His relationship with Diem is filled with tender moments and his parents are a hoot. My emotions were yo-yoing between sadness and sheer happiness. I am in awe of this author. The way she portrays imperfect people and makes us empathize and root for them is brilliant writing. A must read if emotions and words are your poison.

Sad sad story
I didn't know what I was getting into when I started this...i frankly thought this was a suspense novel and it took me 3 chapters to understand that this is a sad love story... By the time I was done with 3 chapters i was too invested in the characters to give it up... The book is so sad it made me tear up at almost every page and by the time I was done with this book my eyes were swollen... though it cud have been becoz of lack of sleep lol... It's so sad...that even though i knew the ending would be a happily ever after ..it just failed to turn things around... The plot is not new...but the characters are all too good to exist in reality... Post 5yrs of servicing a prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter for the accidental death of her boyfriend...Kenna returns to the same town to win her daughter back from the grand parents... And falls for the handsome best friend of the dead boyfriend... somewhere i was sort of hoping things weren't the way they were discribed...i wanted there to be some kind of crazy reason/ deliberate ..i wanted a villain...very childish...but still... I wish I had not picked this book without reading what it was abt...it's an ok read... Frankly I'm more into reading things that give me some kind of inspiration...not some love story kind of a person...i enjoy light reading ... romantic comedies..but not romantic tragedies...they irritate me.. But to be fair...it's not a bad book...just a sad one.

Romance that engaged the mind with emotions & patience!
The story got a lot of emotions. The story is smooth going like a riverflow. I wanted to give 4.5 to this novel, but this application doesn't allow to give such ratings. I liked the character of KENNA the most. She showed the bold, sensitive, broken as well as lovable sides of her at different phases of life.

Overrated and slow
Bought three books from Colleen Hoover and as always … you can easily skip 10 chapters and not miss a thing. Good initial plots but horrible writing and absolutely no developments. I stopped the agony in the middle of the third book and threw them all away.
