Oops. misstated the question. what is the minimum width of strap you can turn with this bodkin? can it make a 1/4” wide tube? 1/2”? 1”?

According to the package, it will take elastic 5/8" or wider and needs a casing opening to be 3/4" or wider. Sorry for the delay answering we were on the road to a show. Raylene

What is the maximum width of strap you can turn with this bodkin?

You just have to keep feeding it through till you reach the end and trurn as you go. It can turn any length as long as you are careful not to pull the material out of the teeth.

Couldn’t be without it

I was unsure about this item but it was highly recommended. At first I found it really hard to work out how to use it. I think to be fair this was just me because as soon as I worked it out I’ve not looked back. It makes threading elastic through so much easier. As it’s so flexible it fits through much better than any of the metal bodkins I’ve tried. It’s good quality and having used it for some time it seems quite hardy too.
