Emily Henry has the knack to cater a book for a wide set of audience but somehow can make it personal to each and everyone of her readers, I believe everyone has something or the other within themselves that they can relate to her books with. Book Lovers felt like a witty, heartfelt love letter to life filled with hard to talk about emotions, day to day relationship struggles, familial bonds and deeply rooted anxiety that can stem out of loss and grief. There were moments I laughed so much that my insides were in stitches and then there were endearing moments that made me heart ache with joy, this once again is a very quotable book like her other books. It follows Nora, a literary agent who is a city girl through and through and holds life by it reigns trying to have everything under control. Nora's character is a personification of a strong woman who wants everything and has the capability to take it,but what lies under that brave facade goes deeper than she could ever anticipate, her life revolves around her younger sister Libby to whom she is more of a mother than a sister. Nora's fear of losing makes her overprotective at times so when Libby and Nora feel like they are drifting apart, they decide to go on a vacation to spend time together, a lot of things boils to the surface during their time in a small quaint town in North Carolina, which Nora will have to tackle head on. Nora's character will be quite relatable to people who have hard time sorting their emotions and talking about them, I absolutely adored her character growth Nora and Libby's struggles and sibling rivalry is true to real life and complex because of the way they grew up and varying perspectives they have on life, I love how their relationship wasn't turned into something hurtful or ugly. It was authentic and refreshing how their characters develop and how their love for each other changes them into better people, if you have a sister yourself I dare you not to cry while you read their beautiful relationship The unexpected twist Nora's doesn't anticipate while going on this "trip of a lifetime" is having to see the ever charming albeit snarky Charlie Lastra, her work nemesis which later ensues a fiery banter and sizzling chemistry between these two true enemies.Nora and Charlie's banter is a chef's kiss, they have so many witty word volley's that will make you guffaw and make you forget that you are reading, my heart is so full while I read the precious moments between them.I also had to say this is probably the "spiciest" of all Emily Henry books could go on spice level with few open door scenes. Here is one of my favorite quote- "Be my shark Stephens". "Already was",I say. "Always have been". "I love you", he says again. "I love you too". I don't have to force it past a knot or through the vise of a tight throat.Its simply the truth, and it breathes out of me, a wisp of smoke, a sigh, another floating blossom on a current carrying billions of them. "I know",he says. "I can read you like a book". What to expect -Heartfelt belly laughs as a result of witty/hilarious writing -A story of two siblings that tugs at your heart strings -A strong woman's love letter to life in NYC - Endearing moments that will make your soul content -A beautiful love story between two characters who can be easily misunderstood - Deep discussions on big foot erotica ;) Do yourself a favor and get lost in this book! Book Review: Book Lovers by Emily Henry What a delightful book! A rom-com about book lovers, for book lovers. Book Lovers follows Nora, a career-driven literary agent, and her younger sister, Libby. Their bond is unbreakable—especially after losing their mother, when Nora put her own dreams on hold to ensure Libby had everything she needed, even into adulthood. Enter Charlie, a sharp, sarcastic editor who instantly clashes with Nora after rejecting a book by her client, Dusty. His loss—it became a bestseller. But fate (and Libby’s spontaneous vacation plans) brings them all to Sunshine Falls, the charming small town that serves as the backdrop for Dusty’s hit novel. With Libby’s carefully crafted checklist, Hallmark-level charm, and undeniable chemistry between Nora and Charlie, the story unfolds with witty banter, heartfelt moments, and surprises that keep you hooked. I absolutely loved This book. Nora is so New York and I absolutely love her personally. Honestly, caring, smart, witty and such a sarcastic smart ass. Being a New Yorker myself I so appreciated the on point portrayal of these characters and of New York City. Charlie is such a great Male character and I swear while reading the book so many characteristics of his stood out to me and I kept thinking he is definitely on the spectrum. I could be wrong but I just kept feeling that about him. I love him and his personality in this book. This story is so much more than your typical romance novel. It’s about a sisterly bond, so much love from every aspect imaginable, romance of course but also about love on such a deeper level. Soul mates, love that was meant to be. True love always finds a way. Family, sacrifice and allowing yourself what you deserve. If this were an actual Rom-Com movie I’m sure it would be one of my favorites. Infinite stars ⭐️ and I highly recommend.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry is an anti-trope rom com about two people working in the publishing industry, their rivalry, and unlikely friendship when they find themselves spending time in the same small town. Nora Stephens is known as a cutthroat publicist who will do whatever she needs to do for her clients’ success. Having lost her mom at a young age and becoming responsible for her baby sister has hardened Nora to love. Her sole focus has been on making sure that she, her sister, and now her nieces never want for anything. When her sister suggests an extended vacation in a small town that one of her client’s books was based on, she reluctantly agrees and even puts on a smile for the bucket list her sister has declared they must complete. What she doesn’t expect is to find her nemesis working at the local bookstore. I adored this book! Emily Henry has cemented herself as an auto-buy author for me. I have yet to be disappointed by anything she’s written. This one is no exception. I absolutely loved the opening and was hooked instantly. This story opens on Nora running late for a business luncheon with our soon-to-be nemesis and love interest. Why she is running late though is what made me laugh. She’s being dumped over the phone by yet another boyfriend who took a vacation or business trip to a small town and found his true love there. Sound familiar? It should because it’s what happens in every small town romance and almost all the holiday Hallmark romcoms. Nora has cast herself as the city girlfriend who all those guys dump in the movies. This twist on your typical small town romcom makes for a hilarious and often heartfelt novel that feels more true to life than the ones that stick to the trope. I love Nora, her barely there tolerance of the small town, and how much she loves her sister. And then there’s our nemesis turned love interest, Charlie Lastra. Charlie is so great. We don’t really learn too much about him as the story focuses mostly on Nora and her owning up to her own issues. Charlie balances Nora out, he sees her and likes all of her, even the things that have driven her exes away. Overall I loved Book Lovers. This book was written for those that love books, love romance, and love a good story. Nora and Charlie, Nora’s sister, the small town charm, all of it works together to create a a story that feels real, like I could go visit this town on any given day or run into Charlie or Nora on the street. Highly recommend this one!

This is a rare book where I like it at the beginning and slowly grow to become disinterested and wish it was over. The story is largely predictable and the characters unlovable which for a love story is not so great. The biggest flaw in this story is the thin character development of Libby who is Nora's close sister. We never really get to know Libby and she largely fades into the background as an after thought. I read this book as a excecise in broadening my reading to other genres. While I've found mysteries a pleasant new space, love stories maybe not so much.

I expected this book to be a light rom com, but it turned out to be so much more! Emily Henry has this way of making the characters feel real. Nora is ambitious, driven, and self-aware. I loved that the book did not punish her for being successful. Charlie had the perfect balance between sarcastic and soft. Their banter felt natural, and I enjoyed reading about many of their exchanges. This book is not only about romance, but throughout the book there are themes of family, grief, and learning how to redefine what “home” really means. Nora’s relationship with her sister added so much emotional depth. It is not just about falling in love but about choosing the kind of life that feels right. It is a slow burn with big emotions. The small-town setting, bookish details, and humor make it feel cozy, but the story is still very good.

She's the woman that the hunky hero leaves behind in every small town romance, and she knows it. This is truly her story, with a great mix of women's fiction and romance told exclusively from the heroine's perspective. The heart of the story is Nora's personal journey towards love and self-acceptance, but the romance is also an integral part of the tale. This romance lover was greedy for the swoony scenes - I loved both characters, and they were electric together. While the love story is not always the focus, it definitely had me caught up, and I also appreciated the smart, impactful moments that make this a well-rounded read. The story follows Nora, a woman who knows she's not heroine material. As a book agent, she can see the parallels between her own life and the plot of a small town romance novel. Basically, she's the workaholic ice queen that the hero always leaves behind once he finds the love of his life... and that's actually happened to her several times. Nora has always been an unapologetic city girl who is married to her job, so when she suddenly finds herself spending a month in a charming small town, Nora is a fish out of water. She's out of her element, and the only person who seems to understand the feeling is the grumpy editor who is also in town. Nora wrote Charlie off as a jerk when she first met him, but getting to know him better has shown her that there might be more to the story. They might not be anyone else's definition of "perfect," but they shine when they're together. I was grinning within minutes of reading this, loving the many nods to tropes, rom coms, and classic love stories. It's such an intelligent romance, starring a woman who most would consider unlikable or unrelatable. I loved getting to know Nora better and understanding what makes her tick. This is 100% her story, and that really worked here. Sure, I was impatient to get back to the romance sometimes, but I also enjoyed how unique the storyline feels. It's truly a blend of women's fiction and romance, about finding your own happy place and being loved for who you are. Nora softens so much throughout the story, but I adored that Charlie never asks her to. They make such an interesting combination, with plenty of sexual tension, chemistry, and banter. There's a great mix of small town charm, swoons, humor, emotional moments, and angst - it puts you through your paces, emotionally, and leaves a lasting impression.

5 ⭐️ | 📖 book lovers if she were in a Hallmark movie, Nora would be the ex left behind while the lead goes to a small town and falls in love with a local. she knows that. it has literally happened to her. more than once. when her sister, Libby, decides that they too deserve to have their own small-town-life-altering experience, Nora finds herself spending a whole month in the city that inspired a bestselling book from the author that skyrocketed her career as an agent. what she didn’t expect was to find her nemesis, editor Charlie Lastra, running the local bookshop. while she tries to keep her distance, she realizes this might not be as easy in a small town as it’d be in NY. I went into this book not knowing much. and I thought, I truly thought, maybe I wouldn’t love it as much as Emily’s previous books. I don’t have much in common with Nora. I didn’t think I’d be able to relate to her. I went as far as to convince myself that it’d be okay if I didn’t love it. well, I should’ve known better. even if I had hated Nora, which I obviously didn’t, I’d still have loved the book. simply because of Emily’s writing. what she does with words… it feels like magic. the kind of magic people hunt grimoires down to try to replicate, but it just never comes out the same. there’s a secret recipe that belongs only to her. she has the ability to put feelings into words, and I know this sounds like a basic skill a writer should have, but that’s not what I mean. I just can’t quite explain it. like, in pwmov, when she gave the best definition of “saudade” I’ve ever come across, and she doesn’t even speak Portuguese. i’m gonna leave her own words here, because it’s the best way I can explain how reading her books feel: “This book has crushed me with its weight and dazzled me with its tiny bright spots. Some books you don’t read so much as live, and finishing one of those always makes me think of ascending from a scuba dive. Like if I surface too fast I might get the bends.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️ 🌶🌶

Super süße Geschichte. Hat sich sehr schön gelesen und hat Spaß gemacht. Die Witze sie die Autorin einbaut gefallen mir persönlich sehr gut.

Book Lovers Emily Henry Nora Stephens es la clásica mujer de negocios neoyorquina "fría, calculadora y escalofriante" que generalmente suele ser la villana en las típicas historias de romance quien convencida por su hermana viaja a un pueblo pequeño a buscar su propia aventura. Sinceramente, después de no haber podido terminar Beach Read no esperaba absolutamente nada de este libro y pues me sorprendió! Si bien no es el libro perfecto, si lo considero muy bueno, soy una persona completamente diferente a Nora y aún así me identifique por completo con ella, con su perdida, su dolor y con el peso que que conlleva ser la hermana mayor, la responsable, la fuerte, la que carga con todo y todos y hace lo posible por que estén bien dejando sus sentimientos, sueños y necesidades de lado para hacer felices a los demás. Para mi esa es la parte más fuerte del libro, Nora y su conflicto interno entre buscar su felicidad o la de su hermana. En cuanto a Charlie, el interés romántico, es un hombre bueno pero no muy interesante, no brilla mucho por si mismo 😮‍💨 si tiene muy buena química con Nora y se complementan bien el uno al otro pero no hay nada memorable en el, no hubo ningún momento en el que el personaje me hiciera sentir no se... maripositas o algo jeje! Supuestamente es un Enemies to Lovers pero la verdad yo no lo vi así, Nora y Charlie tienen un ligero choque al inicio del libro pero no los llamaría enemigos 🤔 incluso, si me pongo muy quisquillosa podría decir que el romance en este libro está en segundo plano opacado por la relación y conflictos entre Nora y su hermana Libby. Si buscas romance, Enemies to Lovers y un protagonista masculino que te haga hacer 😍🥰🤤😏 este no es el libro para ti 😅 pero igual dale la oportunidad! Es bastante divertido y sentimental si logras conectar con los personajes.
