SMALL BUT IT WORKS GREAT
Quite small and I expected it to run as a tiny nothing burger...It easily took 2 large stalks of celery and made them into shreds, then onions too but we had to cut them smaller to fit in the shoot. Carrots went in with no issues as well. Next was apples, and it made them nicely done for pie. Still, for something that is this small, that motor is a BEAST

Small, yet powerful
This is very compact, yet does the job. Good product, good value.

Excellent mini-food processor, doesn't fully replace large food processor or blender
This product is exactly what it says it is, a “mini” food processor, so I will review it based on that fact alone. If you are looking to replace a full size, say 8-10 cup food processor or full sized blender for 100% of your jobs, this is not the appliance for you, so it is not fair to judge it otherwise. This food processor slices small amounts of vegetables, shreds small amounts of cheese, and makes a nice sized smoothie, about 16-20 ounces, and it has a smaller footprint on your kitchen counter. It does all this pretty well, although it does not blend ice very well. It does have one design flaw though, as mentioned in other reviews, the small plastic alignment tab in the lid, which my wife broke off THE VERY FIRST TIME SHE USED IT. This is an engineering design flaw that a safeguard such as this could break so easily. I just took the broken piece and jammed it in the handle to bypass the cutoff switch, problem solved, but the only ding I can call out on this appliance; shame on Hamilton Beach for designing this piece to be so fragile. That's why I only gave it 4 stars and not 5. If you’re thinking well I don’t need a full sized food processor or blender so I’ll just make a double batch, I think you’ll be frustrated and blame the appliance, which again really isn’t fair. It is what it is, nothing more. We owned a large food processor for about a year, using it twice, then packing it away. It was just too much and this is just about enough. Same with my blender, used to make smoothies and now it sits in storage.

Over engineered - not good
The first time I used it, it broke. I was grating an onion and parts of the onion were still big. I stopped the machine and tried to open the top to get them out. That is where the problem started. 1. There are too many parts. 2. The clips that hold the lid to the bowl flop around, are in the way and unnecessary. 3. The gasket is too tight (thick) and unnecessary. It makes the lid hard to get off. 4. The most important element is a plastic "operation tab". It seats into a slot in the handle. This tab makes the machine operate. The tab broke off when I tried to take the lid off. Thus, I couldn’t figure out why the machine wouldn’t start again. As I mixed my meatloaf ingredients by hand I came across a square piece of plastic. That piece of plastic was the “operation tab”. It broke off the first time I used the machine. It broke off when I tried to remove the lid. It could have been deadly in meatloaf. I have a 30 year old Black and Decker Handy Shortcut mini food grater, slicer, chopper, blender that just gave up the ghost. This is not a good replacement. Please someone! Come up with a compact grater, slicer, chopper that is easy to operate and to clean.

A GEM OF A MINI CHOPPER/BLENDER/GRATER/SLICER
I had been looking for a replacement for my old "mini" chopper when I came across this one. After several years of use my old "twist" style chopper became very difficult to assemble and operate. As I cook for 2, the 4 cup HB mini is perfect. PROS: Very easy to assemble and take apart as everything just "lifts off" no twisting required Super easy to clean The chopping blade has two blades in stead of one which allows for a finer 'chop" or blending The feed chute is rectangle which makes it easier to fit food into [my old one had a crescent shaped feed chute which made fitting food into near impossible...go figure!] Comes with two blades that chop, blend, grate and/or slice just like its bigger siblings This unit is tall but does not take up very much cab or counter space The lid fits snugly if properly lined up; you do have to gently push down on the lid so that the seal engages. A few reviewers have mentioned that a tab on the top located toward the handle end has broken off. I took note of this and so am careful to properly line the spout with the top and the tab with its corresponding slot at the handle. So far I've had no problems. CONS Unless you are using a really small block of cheese, the image shown grating a block of cheese is a little misleading! If you are in need of a small chopper this one is a great choice, for its size, usability [being able to chop, slice and grate] and ease of use and cleaning.

Lid Broke in less than 6 months. Bad build quality. Flimsy brittle plastic
I bought it a few months ago, to do basic chopping dicing etc ( onions , tomatoes etc) during food prep. It has been ok, but today the plastic tab on the lid broke off while opening the lid.. It is just flimsy, brittle plastic. Now it wouldn't run as the plastic tab triggers the motor/ acts as a switch. Now I need to throw it OR buy the part for $22 ( $11 is for Shipping).. So it was ok while it lasted, but overall not happy with the purchase as the build quality is bad.

Easy to use, easy to clean, small footprint
Quieter than my big expensive food processor, lighter weight. Easier to use. I use it more often than I do the heavier bigger fancy food processor I have. This one is easy to clean, doesn't take up much room, is large enough for most tasks like chopping nuts, grinding oatmeal, chopping herbs or veggies or cheese.

This is such a great little mixer at such a great price! It’s perfect for leaving on my counter for everyday mixing and chopping/slicing or shredding. I love how it came with different attachments and I can slice, chop, and shred all with this. It mixes perfectly too. I have a big heavy food processor, but it’s so big and bulky I don’t always feel like hauling it out. This is so nice and compact, it’s super easy to use. And the lid snaps on nice and tight. It’s not like my older food processor that had to slide and lock, and at times would jolt apart while I was using it and scare the heck out of me. This one is completely safe and secure. It even has little suction cup feet on the bottom so you can’t slide it on the counter. It’s VERY safe feeling. The snap lid has to be in place for it to work, it’s a great safety feature. It’s really easy to clean up too. I hand wash the blades; I find the dishwasher too caustic on blades and wears them out much quicker. But otherwise I would put everything else in the dishwasher. It’s not designed to crush ice or spices. And it’s recommended to freeze cheese like mozza for 30 min prior to shredding. It does make great smoothies though! This has been a great purchase and I would definitely buy it again. Highly recommend.

First of all, I received a damaged item (the clip on the lid was broken), so I requested for a replacement. There was more inconvenience coming along with the replacement item (missing part, scratches on the bowl, tiny crack on the plastic of the blade part, a button that's a bit stubborn), but Amazon customer service was very helpful and attentive in solving my problem, and I very much appreciated their empathetic responds and satisfying solutions. Now about this product, I think the size is perfect for me. It's small, but not too small like the 1.5 cup mini food processors in the market, also not too big to take up much kitchen space. I only cook for myself and my husband, so I don't need big serving capacity, and I think 4 cup is the way to go. I like the shape of the blade that allows it to chop and blend more evenly. The first time I used it, I tried to chop bell peppers. Unfortunately I overdid it and turned it into purée. The motor is quite powerful for the size, and you really don't need to hit the chop button too many times if all you want to do is chopping, otherwise you'll have purée instead. The shredder/slicer works well too. You just have to insert a smaller amount and size of food at a time. The lid has a rubber seal that prevents leakage, which is a good thing. But it also makes opening the lid requires a little bit of force (because the rubber is really tight). This product boasts its stack and snap system that's advertised to be more convenient than twist and lock in most food processors and blenders, which I think is true. The bottom part of the cup is not attached or locked into anything when you run the machine. There's a plastic piece in the cup handle that sticks into the motor body when you close the lid (a piece of plastic on the lid pushes down this piece of plastic in the cup handle), that triggers the safety mechanism so that the motor will run, but that's all. So you can just lift up the cup and the motor will stop working. That's convenient while still being safe. All of the parts are easy to clean, and dishwasher safe (I wash them manually in hot water and soap). I think this product is perfect if you can't afford to have a bigger food processor due to lack of space, or just don't need a big one. The only concern here in my opinion is durability. The clips on the lid feel a bit flimsy, and it seems like if you don't handle them gently they'll break quite easily because of the shape of the clips. And the bigger concern is with the safety mechanism. Basically if the little piece of plastic on the lid or on the cup handle broke, the motor would not turn on. And judging from the size, shape and position, it could happen quite easily if you don't handle it with care. Bottom line, this seems like a good product and mine works well so far. My advice is to handle this food processor gently. Hopefully it will last reasonably long. Good luck. :)

I purchased this a couple of months ago and have used it several times now to leave an honest feedback, it is good quality and does exactly the smaller jobs i was wanting it to do without it taking up much space, good powerful little processer with 2 attachments , you wont be dissapointed.
