Do recent batches of this form a gel-like substance when water is added? i've bought a few products and they've all stayed as watery powder or clumps

I don’t use powder now but have used it in the past. I think that taken properly, the powder does form a gel which then forms a lining on the stomach. Unfortunately, this is a difficult way to take Slippery Elm. I take the capsule form which goes direct to the stomach with better and more reliable results. The stronger the tablet, the better.
