Perfect Pan
To the people who are surprised by the size of this pan, I have to say (and this goes for all such purchases, folks): Don't buy from the picture. Read the description. They tell you the size. If I see one more person complain in a review that they "were expecting an Irish Setter puppy, but all I got were some smelly sticks," I'm going to scream. Just because the rawhide chews had a PICTURE of hunting dog on the front panel doesn't mean they were selling you a damned dog in a plastic baggie. This pan has 12 cavities that make delightful individual loaves of breads both quick and yeast-risen, as well as mini breads for hosting or gifting that are just the right size. If you want a neat way to present a dinner roll or drop biscuit, this is brilliant. Try pressing your canned biscuit dough in each well, cut a slit down the center lengthwise in each, and let them crown. Brush the tops with melted butter, sprinkle on herbs, oats, seeds, whatever you like, and bake. You don't have to stick your finger in some fat little white blobby guy's belly to get giggles of delight. A great option versus muffin tin for cupcakes and sweet treats like muffins and banana bread. And anything you'd serve with a meat and cheese board looks more creative and couture when it's shaped like a loaf and not a glop. Stop hating, and start baking. Clean up is a snap and a spray of nonstick before use insures perfect unmolding each and every time.

soap, gluten free cornbread, compound butter, you name it.
I got these about a year ago as soap molds - make beautiful 2.25 ounce bars (travel size) I've baked gluten free cornbread, used it as a freezer mold to harden compound butters as well as rendered beef tallow and lard, used them to make jumbo ice cubes, used for pemmican molds, gluten free trail bread, no-bake cookies and a plethora of other things. never had a problem with unmolding items, never needed to use a knife or fork to get anything out. followed the directions and give them a very light oiling the first time I used them. after that, I handwash in hot soapy water, then rinse with hot water with a bit of white vinegar (like all my dishes. it acts as a degreaser) works well, great for single portions of breads, cakes and the like, makes huge cookies (gluten free shortbread with dark chocolate chips and pecans) .. more like cookie bars. yes, you will need to put this on a cookiesheet to move when filled. minor inconvenience as far as i'm concerned. easy to store, just roll up, toss in the cabinet. keep in mind the temperature safety range ( -40F to 440F) but I've found, with the smaller size, i can drop the time and temp of baked goods a bit and they come out just fine. for the soap-making, I've used it for hot process and cold process soaps, and it's never given me a bit of trouble. I've seen a lot of reviews talking about certain issues - very sugary things 'might' stick. if you use a cooking spray, don't use one that contains silicone (many of them do) as that can cause sticking as well. I'm perfectly thrilled with the little things, and I'm planning on soon buying some of the related 6 cavity pans to make larger soap bars - and to note.. petite does cover the items formed in this three inches long, 2 inches wide, and just over an inch deep - roughly the size of a credit card, and about a finger's width thick (give or take a little wiggle room) hope this helps!

LOVE IT!!!!! Are you a soapmaker? I love my Freshware!
Again and again, every time I use the Freshware products I am amazed at the ease and simplicity of each product. One, I get perfect bars every time- with the Freshware 12-Cavity Silicone Petite Loaf Pan, I can have a blast making all sorts of different soaps. It is great for making loafs to tests new "flavors" of soap (I couldn't think of a better word, as every time I think of the type of soap I think of my dad washing my mouth out as a child the one time...flavors of soap are important!lol, jk). It is also great for jello, bread, brownies, -goodness, you name it, it works! (So far) But, let me give you a reminder about the differences in silicone to regular soap-molds or cooking pans/dishes. It is not a very solid container. Once you put the liquids in, if you aren't careful, you will spill them trying to move the silicone mold. No matter what brand of silicone molds you get this is a note to remember-I still like my Freshware best. Anyway, use a solid surface beneath your mold, especially if you are going to be moving it. I make 2-3oz bars in here. And, I get to tell you, I have 12 or 13 Freshware Molds now, just to give you an idea of how well I like them. If you would like a suggestion, try the daisy or other flower molds, they come out perfectly! And I was worried about that! But, back to this mold. It is really easy to pop out your item, whether a cooked item, jello or soap. You just "pop" it out. Which by the way, makes it much easier to clean than the regular containers. There are no corners for things to hide in because I can completely flip it inside out and wash it. Happiness is...! Hope this helps!

Perfect little soaps for the whole year!
This of course works just as good for soap making as any other silicone pan would do. Easy to remove, easy to clean, the soaps turn out lovely, etc. But my uses are a bit more specific. I actually got this pan specifically because the cavities are smaller. I make my own soap for my body and hair, but I use a different fragrance each month (yes I'm a little crazy like that). So I have 12 fragrances for 12 little cavities full of soap! I just mix it in and stir with a toothpick while it's in the little loaf. Works perfectly and if I cut them in half, it gives me just enough soap for about a month, so I don't have to store a half used bar of soap. I've also used these in gifts. There's something about miniature sizes that just make something feel extra special and cute. I still have my large silicone loaf pan for my regular non-scented soap, but it's great not to have to make a giant batch of soap for every fragrance. This might not work for everyone, but it's something that has worked out wonderfully for my needs.

A little flimsy but still great for baking
I just used this for the first time to make banana bread mini loaves (more like banana bread brownie-sized loaves). It worked beautifully - my banana bread turned out great - and the best part was the removal..l let it cool & I was able to literally lift them straight out...I was shocked (I thought I'd at least have to peel away the mold, but no!). However I do have one complaint, it's too flimsy - I thankfully suspected it would be beforehand & filled it with a mesh grate underneath it. I tried lifting it & the middle row just bowed in - so I just put it in the oven along with the grate (which is actually what we use for cooking pizza). I have another silicone mold used for candy or ice cubes (so it's very very small, about 6x8 I'd say) - it's of little lego figures - and in between the molds on the bottom side there are bars connecting each mold (so when looking at this mold in the photos shown there would be bars in between each cup) - I didn't get why they were there till I filled it up with juice to make some mini juice pops for my son - the mold stayed perfectly flat as I put it in the freezer. Something like this would do wonders for this product.

Works well, great results.
This is just what I hoped for. You will want to read through the instructions and be sure to coat with oil or cooking spray so that your food doesn't stick. And even if it does stick, it's easy to clean. Yay! We've already made mini bread loaves, individual brownies (a BIG hit) and miniature banana bread loaves (the BIGGEST hit), both of which turned out great even though I was adjusting the baking time. So far it's been easy to swap between "regular" sizes and the little molds. One batch of breadstick dough made twelve loaves. One batch of brownies (intended for a 9x9) filled the petite mold perfectly. My banana bread recipe usually makes three medium-sized loaves and instead we did two loaves and filled the mold with the equivalent of the last loaf. Baking times were shortened and the goodies were devoured. Freshware also seems to be quite customer-aware. I'm pleased with every aspect of my order, and I'm excited to try more from Freshware.

Works great if you use it right
I made individual corn bread with this for my first use - I failed a bit with the first attempt for 2 reasons: First, I didn't oil it, thinking it wouldn't need it - it does. Second, I put it on top of a cookie sheet and apparently that was part of the problem. The second batch turned out absolutely perfect because I sprayed it with no-stick spray and I placed it right on the rack in the oven. The corn bread browned, came out of the pan easily and with no breakage, and tasted wonderful. Great item, will be using this quite a bit! Last word of advice - it does get very very hot so you still need to use a glove or cloth or something to pull it out of the oven. This is why I tried the cookie sheet. I'd suggest either grabbing opposite corners to pull it out, or sliding it onto a cookie sheet or something because otherwise it can bend and fold with the weight and drop your food on the floor. Good luck! -D

Makes a nice small bar of soap.
I have been making soap for 16 years. At first I was using rigid plastic molds and the rectangular bar that looked like a "standard" bar of soap was the most popular shape. Over the years these molds have been cracking and breaking and I have been using silicone muffin pans to mold most of my soap lately. But I have been keeping my eye open for a good rectangle shaped silicone mold. This is as close as I have come. I wish that the product description, or even a review, had given the cavity dimensions, so I will give them here. At 2x3x3/4", the cavity is a little smaller than the rigid molds I have been using, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I haven't yet made a batch of pure white soap in it, so I'm not sure if their is any transfer of the red color to the soap, as I have experienced with red Wilton silicone molds. The silicone isn't too flimsy, but is still soft enough to easily push out the bars of soap. I like it enough that I will be buying more.

Useful Soap Mold
Silicone is a wonderful product to use both for baking and soap- making. I bought these particular molds for soap making, and they worked like a charm. It was easy to pour and level the soap, and when I took out the soap bars, I simply inverted each mold. One note: the entire mold is silicone and highly flexible. This means that it is very difficult to move a filled mold without damaging what has been poured. I suggest using a baking sheet underneath this mold if you need to move it. The finished size of each bar a typical for a soap bar - they are not to large. I ended up cutting each bar in half for single- sized usage.
