No timer, no temperature indicator no light showing on or off. Pretty shabby. I''m unsure if it heats enough to cook chicken. Use as pot plant holder.

I purchased the Hamilton Beach Extra Large 10 Quart Slow Cooker, and it has quickly become a kitchen favorite! This slow cooker is perfect for gatherings, as it can easily accommodate large portions, making meal prep for family events or potlucks a breeze. The "Stay or Go" feature with the lid lock is fantastic! It allows for easy transport without worrying about spills, which is a big plus when taking dishes to a friend's house or to a picnic. The built-in clip-on lid keeps everything secure, and it's easy to clean when I get home .Cooking with this slow cooker is simple; it heats evenly, and the temperature settings are quite straightforward. I’ve made everything from stews to casseroles, and the results have been delicious every time. The removable stoneware pot is also dishwasher-safe, making cleanup quick and easy. One minor downside is that the unit can be a bit bulky for smaller kitchens

I read many many reviews for different slow-cookers before I decided on the Hamilton Beach 5-Qt unit. This slow-cooker is basic in features and works very well, exactly what you need in your slow-cooker. The lid fits well, it doesn't get so hot that it melts the plastic handles off, the paint of the stoneware doesn't leech into your food and so on. It is just plain works. The only improvements I would suggest are: 1- Warm and Hot settings seem pretty much the same. Only difference is how quickly the system gets to temp. 2- There is no indicator light to tell you that it is running/power-on. So, start it a few minutes before you leave for the day and just before you pop out the door, check it to ensure that it's warming up. Otherwise, this is a great slow-cooker and one of the best Amazon purchases I have made. I don't like Amazon...

Does what it is supposed to, simple design, easy to clean. Fits a good sized pork shoulder with lid closed/secured.
