Is the magnet really that bad that it falls down all the time?

It is not an overly strong magnet. I normally use the smaller 1.5 ah-3ah 20 volt battery and use the magnet to stick the light in a variety of places. I have used the larger 4ah-6ah battery on occasion and the heavier battery doesn't give me as much confidence in the magnet. The smaller battery will power this light for several hours easily and you will have fewer problems overall when using it.
