Great value and well built
I purchased this vacuum pump specifically for evacuating my vehicle's AC system before recharging it, and I'm pleased to report it performed exactly as needed. For anyone doing their own AC work or HVAC repairs, this pump delivers solid performance at a price point that makes it an attractive alternative to more expensive professional-grade options. Performance on AC Systems The pump pulled down my AC system efficiently and reached the necessary vacuum level without any issues. It handled the job smoothly, maintaining consistent suction throughout the evacuation process. The gauge readings were stable, and the pump achieved the proper vacuum depth required for removing moisture and air from the system before introducing new refrigerant. This is exactly what you need from a vacuum pumpโreliable performance that gets the job done correctly the first time. Exceptional Value What really stands out about this pump is the value proposition. AC vacuum pumps can get quite expensive, especially if you're only an occasional user rather than a professional technician. This pump provides the functionality you need without the premium price tag of top-tier brands. For DIY mechanics or homeowners who occasionally need to service AC systems, the cost-to-performance ratio is excellent. It's affordable enough that you don't feel like you're making a huge investment for a tool you might only use a few times a year. Build Quality and Longevity Based on my initial experience and inspection of the pump, it appears to be well-constructed with durability in mind. The housing feels solid, the components seem robust, and there's nothing about the build quality that raises red flags about premature failure. While only time will tell for certain, all indications suggest this pump should provide reliable service for many years. It doesn't have that cheap, disposable feel you sometimes get with budget toolsโthis seems like equipment that's built to last through multiple jobs. Would I Buy It Again? Absolutely. If I were in the market for another vacuum pump or needed to recommend one to someone else, this would be an easy choice. That said, based on how well it's holding up and how solidly it's built, I don't anticipate needing a replacement anytime soon. This appears to be one of those purchases where you buy it once and it serves you reliably for the long haul. Final Recommendation For anyone needing a vacuum pump for AC work, HVAC repairs, or similar applications, this pump hits the sweet spot of performance, quality, and affordability. It does what it's supposed to do, it's built to last, and it won't break the bank. Whether you're a DIY enthusiast tackling your own AC repairs or a professional looking for a cost-effective backup pump, this is a solid choice that delivers excellent value.

Works good, buy oil
Works good, buy oil before use. Comes with small bottle of oil, but that would be good for about 1 ac job Hooked right up to my manifold gauge and drew vacume down guickly. Fairly quiet. Good pump and a good deal. Would recommend.

Nice pump, confusing fitting sizes
The pump is a fair price and it works quite well. However the manual and description isn't very clear when it comes to the sizes of the hoses that can connect to the pump. I did quite a bit of searching and found that this is the male thread OD and thread pitch (tpi) for different flare fittings: 1/4" SAE Flare - 7/16-20 tpi 5/16" SAE Flare - 1/2-20 tpi 3/8" SAE Flare - 5/8-18 tpi 1/2" SAE Flare - 3/4-16 tpi And the ACME fitting for R134A is a non standard ACME that is 1/2" diameter and 16 tpi (standard 1/2" ACME is 1/2" 10 tpi) The image included in the Amazon listing and the manual for this item show: Front fitting: 3/8" male Top fitting: 1/4" male Adapter fitting: 1/2" male However when I measured these fittings with a caliper and a thread gauge I got (see attached photos): Front fitting: 1/2" diameter - 16 tpi (ACME R134A) (manufacturer says this is 3/8") Top fitting: 7/16" diameter - 20 tpi (1/4" SAE flare) (manufacturer says this is 1/4") Adapter fitting: 1/2" diameter 20 tpi (5/16" SAE flare) (manufacturer says this is 1/2") 1/4" SAE flare is what is found on many manifold gauge set hoses, so this is normal to find on a vacuum pump. The ACME fitting is also typically found on vacuum pumps (like the Harbor Freight vacuum pump). The 5/16" SAE flare is the size typically found on many mini-split service ports. Another confusing thing is that the manual says to fill with oil "until the reservoir window is completely covered". Yet the sight glass clearly has a min and max mark and the max is not at the very top of the glass. I emailed the manufacturer and they did say to fill between the min and max and not to the top of the sight glass.

It sucks.
Bought this vacuum pump to replace an old one that died on me. Had to vacuum mini split system after installing it worked very well. Very happy would recommend.

Pulls a strong vacuum
This vacuum pump takes care of business, no complaints at all. It draws a strong vacuum on an AC system quickly and quietly. The included pump oil is just enough, if you use it a lot you will want to get more.

Worked intially but then failed
It seems every product has a few reviews that say things like "Junk", "Trash'', or "Don't buy" etc. I tend to disregard those if there are many many positive reviews. In my case, the former were correct. It comes with a bottle of oil which has to be added before use. On the first use, once I vacuumed down to about 280 microns, I either had user error or a leak because when I turned off the pump, my micron gauge went crazy so I thought I had a leak I tightened the connections and tried again--same result. By the third time, it was dark outside so I was working by the light of my phone flashlight. I couldn't even get a vacuum to register on my micron gauge and in the light of the flashlight, there was smoke coming out of the filter cap when the pump was running that i had not noticed in bright sunlight. I double checked the oil level and it was fine. Eventually I realized the the pump had failed and purchased another from Harbor Freight Tools that weighs about 50% more than the one from Amazon. It performed phenomenally and I was able to vacuum my system down to 170 microns with 2 sessions. I returned the failed pump to Amazon and saw that other users had had the same experience as I.

Worked Great for My Car A/C Compressor Job
I bought this vacuum pump mainly to replace my carโs A/C compressor, and it worked perfectly. It pulled a strong, steady vacuum and held pressure without any leaks. The setup was straightforward, and the pump feels solid and well-built for the price. It made the whole A/C recharge process smooth and professional. Highly recommend for DIY automotive work or anyone servicing their own A/C system.

Great pump for a great price
Bought this vacuum pump for performing lab tests at work and it definitely does the trick! Great price and it does exactly what I need it to do. Always check to see what CFM you require before purchasing so you don't order something under powered. 5 stars!!!
