I have a case on my i pad will it charge my pencil?

No it will not. It is really hard to align the pencil to charge even without a cover. This product is unnecessarily expensive and useless. I returned it. Please choose any other brand. Every brand is better and cheaper than this. Please don’t waste your money on this product.

Is it compatible with ipad mini 2 ?

This is simply a silicone case to be added to the Apple Pencil, the Pencil itself is not included.
