Omg omg omg.10/10I put together a little home gym and I love how thick this mat is. It doesn’t slide. I wanna say it’s the consistency of like firm gel? It’s soft but firm at the same time. Definitely great for doing my sit ups on. I’m 6’0 so I use it for planks too.Love.

Thick and soft to lay on. I am using it at yoga now. It is quite curled up but that is OK bc the last curl is like a pillow. I'm sure it'll relax if I leave it open for a while. Love the purple/eggplant color. Also got the darker blue mat that is also a pleasing color. I will also use this for camping or laying in the yard. Good value for your money. I am satisfied with quality but can not speak to longevity. One thing though, I got what they call a used mat for a lesser price. Usually that means the box is smashed or whatnot. This purple mat was missing the carrying stap. Wish I had it. The mat is awkward to carry without it.

This fitness mat is incredibly comfortable and provides excellent support for my joints and knees. I also appreciate the convenient carrying strap, which makes it easy to take with me wherever I go. However, the strap is a bit thin and may not hold up well in the long run. Additionally, it's easy to clean. Overall, this mat checks all the boxes for me: comfort, stability, durability, and safety. It consistently delivers on comfort. I highly recommend it!

It's comfortable, cushy, and slip resistant, but it EASILY tears, so make sure your finger/toe nails are smooth to avoid chunks of the material coming out. It does have a weird smell initially upon opening, but it goes away after being out of the packaging and used a few times.

Really, it’s actually the best.If you’re looking for a good quality, extra thick, comfortable, yoga mat that is black. Then look no further.I like the length and design. And I think it’s totally worth the price.10/10 recommend

This mat is very comfortable and has a nice, finish to it. I see several complaints here about the strap missing. I too thought mine was missing but it was in fact taped to the outer wrapping of the rolled mat. It’s very thin and easy to miss and throw away. But the mat is so superior to any others I’ve ever used. Hopefully it will wear well.

The boysenberry color is pretty. The Retrospec mat is odor-free, 7/8” thick (so close enough), dense, and non-slip on my wood floor. I wanted the density to cushion pressure points whilst performing various core exercises and general stretching on the floor. It works well for my purpose. I agree with other commenters, the 1” thick mat is too unstable for yoga. That said, the slight instability makes this mat useful for developing balance and core stability by balancing on uneven surfaces, similar to the benefits of walking on grass or trails. The mat is easily nicked by long nails (human and animal) rocks, sticks etc. so pay attention to where you set it up; however not a deal-breaker for my use. I originally looked at the BalanceFrom GoCloud mat because it is the mat that appears in several online reviews with a link to Amazon. However, once on Amazon, I noticed remarkable similarities between the GoCloud and Retrospec reviews. I suspect both mats are identical just with a different brand name and sold by different companies. I ultimately went with the Retrospec mat because the Retrospec is sold and shipped by Amazon so the benefits and protections of “Amazon Prime”, including free returns, apply. The GoCloud mat could be returned however according to the fine print, if the return wasn’t due to Seller’s error the return might be subject to a restocking fee. One of the most objectionable review comments common to both brands had to do with the mat having a terrible, lingering odor. I was willing to take a chance and order it, but would have returned it if it had a bad odor. I did not want to pay a restocking fee so went with the Retrospec mat sold and shipped by Amazon. One exception is Amazon Prime offers the GoCloud in black only. I didn’t want black because I expect to occasionally use it outside in the Florida sun and it will get really hot.

I was looking for a thicker padded mat for my yoga and Pilates. I ordered the ocean blue color. It is a beautiful deep color that is relaxing to the eye. The mat was very thick and dense, but still seemed lightweight enough to carry. I ended up returning it because it was huge rolled up and I decided I didn’t want to carry it around. I ordered the half inch Matt in sage green instead this brand and absolutely love it.
