Registers weights quickly and accurately
I work in a food prep room and needed a waterproof, durable and accurate scale. So far, this unit has more than filled the bill. I chose it because it's supposedly very waterproof and so far, it's exceeded my performance expectations. It sets up and tares faster than the $300 ones provided by the company and it weighs 1/4 as much. It's rechargeable AND accepts AAA batteries. The readout is bright and dims for power conservation. IF it's as waterproof as they claim, I'll be very happy with this purchase. Time will tell but after a month's usage, I would recommend it highly, especially if you work in a wet environment. Update: After several months of daily use, it's proven to be waterproof. I rinse it off and dry it but, per their warning, have never submersed it and it works fine. It occasionally gets "stuck" and after a couple of taps, resumes faithful operation. I think this issue is due to the scale pan getting "stuck" because a light tap or two gets it back to normal. Great product which outperforms the expensive and less reliable Ohaus commercial models we have here. 1 year update: I've used this scale 5 days a week for a 14 months now and it's still as described above. Once every few days, it gets "stuck" as above but a light tap remedies the situation. Do be sure to remove the AAA batteries and dry the compartment if the scale gets wet or else corrosion will form. Absolutely no problem with the display or electronics in spite of daily rinse-offs. The literature states that this scale is not designed for commercial use but between you and me, it's done a yeoman's job at my work place and I know it's more accurate and reliable than the Ohaus scales we're provided. Great product - very pleased and will buy another one if and when this one croaks. Update. My first scale eventually "died" after 18 months of daily use because the battery compartment isn't waterproof and corrosion eventually occurred. I ordered another one just like it and sealed up the battery compartment door with Gorilla tape and will just use the rechargeable batteries it contains. After 4 months, this one works just as well as the other and the rechargeable batteries stay charged for what seems like months! I was recently transferred into a refrigerated workroom and after several hours, the scale started "freezing" but since I began placing it on a piece of cardboard (instead of the stainless steel countertop), it's worked flawlessly. Great product outperforming the "professional" models which cost 10x as much.

Update - I was wrong! The scale does just what I need.
I received the scale today and it was much as I expected, but not entirely. The claim of accuracy of +/- 0.3 grams seems true as does the max weight of 11 lbs. However they are not true at the same time. in order to get the accuracy to be as quoted you must weigh small quantities. if weigh something large then the accuracy drops to +/- 3.0 grams. I am a home baker and was attracted to the accuracy to help me weigh out small ingredient additions toward the end of a mix. If the information printed clearly in the small user manual were listed amongst the advertising material in the listing then I would have been able to understand this fact before purchase. Alternatively many manufacturers provide a download link for their user manual. Once again it is hard to be an educated consumer on Amazon. UPDATE --- I'm adjusting my review upward by 1 star after the manufacturer contacted me and offered me a full refund. The product is sound and I don't want my money back, but I'll give top ratings if the manufacturer changes the listing to describe the accuracy of the scale like the manual does or if they put the manual pdf in the listing. Update 2: I've now used the scale to bake with and the 0.1 precision extends up to the full capacity of the scale. The manual indicates that the precision is reduced at the high end but they must be referring to the accuracy. The precision (displayed digits) is actually important to me even if the accuracy is not as good as the precision. I use the decimal places to help me stop pouring ingredients without overshooting my target. This scale is perfect for the small batch baking I am doing and its precision and responsiveness are just perfect.

A Tale of Two Scales
Both this Bomata and the Tada kitchen scales are great! I really like that they have lithium rechargeable batteries that takes a small USB-C connector. The battery in this Bomata scale is rated 400 mAH while the one in the Tada is 200 mAH. Both scales power on quickly, tare quickly, and give the same weight for the same object being weighed. Besides the battery capacity, the Bomata scale is a bit more customizable: you can set the auto-off time to 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 minutes while the Tada scale is preset to turn off at 10 minutes after last use. Another difference is that the Bomata scale backlight dims after 15 seconds, but returns to full brightness when used; the Tada backlight remains on for the duration of use. Another difference is the size of the digits in the displays with the Bomata being slightly smaller. I really like both scales and both are very similar in price. They both weigh to 0.1 g with a maximum of 5 kg. The Bomata is slightly larger than the Tada and both have elevated platforms which allow you to see the display when a larger object is on the weighing platform unlike scales where the display is part of the weighing platform. I find it difficult to recommend one over the other which I suppose is why I purchased both! No more hassles in the kitchen when both my wife and I are prepping at the same time! You can't go wrong with either of these fine scales and they are at a great price point for their functionality!

Good, eco-friendly scales
The scales work as you'd expect any other scales. I love the fact that they are rechargeable - no more looking for batteries at the most inconvenient moment - just remember to charge it up when the indicator is low. I've used it for over a year with no problems.

Perfect kitchen scale
If you need a scale to do small-increment kitchen measurements, this is pretty much the perfect scale. Having a raised tray makes it easy to put any bowl onto it and get an accurate measurement. Completely flush scales I've used sometimes don't accommodate the entire bowl, allowing some of the non-tray parts of the scale to support it and give an inaccurate reading. It holds a charge for a month with daily use, and charges quickly. It's easy to read, the backlight makes it easy to use in most any condition. It's accurate enough for me to use it to measure everything from tea leaves to beef. Standard units of measurement are all available. There aren't any unique units (such as "ml of milk" as some scales provide), but for general use this provides everything you would want. It's water-resistant enough to survive all kinds of potential spills, and very easy to clean. The design is attractive enough for me to keep it on the countertop even when not in use. Highly recommend.

only one flaw--until it failed
Very nice, precise balance. I would give it five stars if it weren't for the label on the balance pan. I don't even remember what the label says but it stuck so hard that removing it caused the white surface of the pan to suffer damage and I have no two small but ugly black spots on the white pan. It's a waterproof balance, maybe sticking a paper label on it is a bad idea, even if it were readily removable. Edit: After a disappointingly short time--a few months-- the rechargeable battery was shot, useless. Three months after that the scale didn't turn on any more. I will no longer recommend this product.

Remembers Plate weight a long long time -- perfect weight loss Aid
Here's why I give this five stars. I put my food on the plate, Put it on the scale, Press the zero button , And I eat. It could be 10 minutes or an hour later I take my plate with the bones and the fat that I did not eat , Put it on the scale and it tells me exactly how much I ate . No more calculating Starting weight versus ending weight etc. The scale remembers the weight that I zeroed it at Forever if I don't turn it off or re-zero it !! Love it. (you need to select the option for scale to never turn off, except manually. Batteries [i use rechargeable and there is a built in rechargeable] last about a month or so for me with FREQUENT use. Is also nice that it is INSTANT ON this way.... no waiting for the scale to turn on before weighing food...... it's nice, but you need to set the auto-turn off time to never or it shuts down based on the default setting]
