Is it one or two locks, the product description does not indicate.

It only binds the dead bolt lock (the upper one in the picture). The door knob (handle below the dead bolt) acts as an anchor for the Grip to prevent the dead bolt from turning. With the dead bolt knob secured by the Grip, opening and closing the door knob/handle is ineffective at opening the door.

I'm confused. If it keeps intruders out, even with the key, how do YOU get back in? I don't get how this works.

It works while you are inside. When you are outside this device is not protecting you. But I do feel so much safer, while I am inside knowing that anyone making a bump key can't get in while I am home. I tried having a friend use my key and try to open the lock while I was inside and they couldn't open it. It is portable and you can take it to a hotel while on vacation. It protects you while you are inside.

Does it work for key fob activated doors?

I think it will but not sure because the key fob doors have a motor and has more strength than a key a key can break or the motor might get tight and go back to the locked position you would have to try it . If you try it try it with the door open just in case the motors sticks .

How do you place it on a door that does not lock? The doors at my job do not have locks in the restroom

This gadget only lasted two times. After that it wouldn't do anything because it was too loose.
