Fantastic Sound, Deep Bass and Repairable!
I ordered my Harman Kardon Go+Play back in February of 2018 and have been using it for almost four years. Quality: The build and overall quality of the speaker is fantastic. It's hefty and sturdy. The look is contemporary, minimal and slick. Portability-wise, it's better suited to being placed in your home and not really an on the go backpack speaker. Sound: The sound is fantastic. The bass is deep and convincing and the overall range from highs to lows is great. I have it under some cabinets in our kitchen and pair it with Spotify on my iPhone. The equalizer in Spotify allows for decent adjustments for the room. Again, the thing sounds really amazing with zero connectivity issues. Longevity: About 8 months ago, I started having problems with recharging/resetting the speaker and the same issues you'll read about here. HOWEVER, all Lithium Ion batteries die eventually. Most last around 400 or so charges. Search "lithium ion battery lifespan". After a couple years the battery was dying. So, I reached out to Harman Kardon and requested that they repair the unit for a fee. Unfortunately, customer service said that they could only give a discount of 30 or 40% on a future purchase. :( So instead... Replace the Battery: I'm not a handy guy but this was pretty straight forward. You'll need a thin phillips head screwdriver, a battery, an instructional online video and about an hour. Search "eyeglass mini screwdriver set" and "Harman Kardon Go Play battery". My total was around 30 bucks. After I changed the battery the thing didn't work until I checked the HK website and searched until I found the bit about pressing all five buttons. Boom! Overall: The Go Play is so great. I paid under $200 for it back in 2018. There is a lot of junk out there, so I like having stuff in my life that can be fixed and used for years to come. Highly, highly recommend!

This is the husband and this is a great product and sounds amazing for $200
This is the husband and this is a great product and sounds amazing for $200. Way better than any Bose or other typical bluetooth speaker in this price range. It has two real silk dome tweeters, two 3.5 inch mid bass drivers with huge magnets, and two passive radiators to increase lower bass. They spent a few bucks on quality parts. Clean, clear, and good balanced sound that you would expect from a real stereo set up. The bass is a little prominent but hits with a good slam that you don't get with other boomy products. If it is too much, then just move it away from the wall to reduce that if it suits your taste. Hey its basically a boom box, so I like it like it just the way it is. Some complain about the battery life, but it takes juice to put out this kind of quality sound. If you want battery life, get a UE Megaboom. They last forever (20 hrs), sound great in their own rite, but are in a different league sound wise. Have and enjoy both. The UE is great to travel with and obviously much more portable. Drops in your suite case or backpack without any hassle. Finally, any of the lower star reviewers who say that it doesn't sound that good, just don't know what they are talking about. Been around the audio business for decades, and this is a little gem. For $400 there are a lot of choices out there, but at half price and $200, it is probably the best value for quality sound right now until they are all gone.

Best out there
This thing sounds crystal clear and is loud as hell! I’ve had several other blue tooth speakers like the W King 100 and JBL flip 5 and this easily beats them in sound quality and bass clarity. It’s not gonna thump you around like the bigger party bass boxes out there but for it’s sz there’s nothing comparable on the portable blue tooth speaker market that can beat this. I’ve had the HK Onyx and was impressed w the sound quality on that but the go play is like having 2 of those going at once. Great speaker. Definitely worth the money and I will definitely recommend this to friends and family. I mainly use it in my Garage for working out and when I tell you it’s set at half sound and it sounds loud I’m not lying to you.

OK first thing first this speaker looks FANTASTIC and the sound I think is VERY good not perfect but really good that's why only 4 or maybe 4.5 stars just shy of perfect. If the sound was crystal clear it would be 5 stars its not crystal clear at high volumes at least to my ears. Battery life/issues. I think I have solved the charging and battery life issues. 1) My unit charges relatively fast I watched each light as it charged. When it was on the 4th light (there are 5) I got distracted when I came back it was on the 2nd light. That's when it hit me. Once this unit charges it doesn't stop it starts the charging process again and recharges. I confirmed this when I unplugged the unit and all lights lite up confirming a full charge. In addition, from the reviews I believe once charged you should keep it unplugged until low and not leave it on the charger. I believe this model might be similar to old cell phones that would burn out after overcharging. To summarize great product for the money, very good sound great look and portable. I only had the product for about a month so I'll update my review if something goes wrong. Enjoy!!!!!! I LOVE MINE 😉

Best sub-$800 speaker out there, still
I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile. Mind Blown! The sounds out of this little thing is impressive. Zero distortion! Just the right amount of bass. Mids and Highs are just right. This thing shines at about half volume and is perhaps one of the best Bluetooth speakers I've heard. Full volume it lowers the bass because it gets so friggin loud the woofer can no way keep up and that's ok. Half volume is the sweet spot and half volume is VERY loud. I have a multitude of bower and Wilkins speakers, definitive tech speakers, JBL xtreme, Charge 3 (ipx7 waterproof) and even Burmeister in my Porsche which in my opinion produces the most perfect sound. My point is, I'm not afraid and will spend on sound. This is the benchmark for portable, compact, sub-$800, wireless speaker.

Sounds Amazing! But ABSOLUTELY NOT built to last. Purchase insurance with this unit!!
-Part 1) My GO+PLAY was delivered on December 8th, 2017. Last Saturday June 22nd 2019 at 6:30 pm, after about a year and a half of life, my GO+PLAY has officially played it's last tune. After about 1.5 years of low to moderate usage (3-4 times a week, up to 3 hours each session) the unit has keeled over and died. No lights, no recharge, no sound, nothing...It's become a $350 dollar paper weight. I've read so many raving reviews about the sound quality, and it's true the sound quality is excellent!! BUT only when it's working...I'm being as honest as I can when I say this GO+PLAY was never used irresponsibly. It never saw a poolside, it was never dropped, nor hit in any way. The unit actually remains aesthetically pristine. The innards however have completely died... I've since filed a claim with Square Trade (SO thankful I purchased their 3-year policy back in 2017!!!) I've also submitted a written statement to Harman/Kardon. I believe for the amount of money you pay, a product this expensive is obligated to last MUCH longer. From this point on customer service and diligence to do the right thing will determine whether or not this GO+PLAY will receive a greater star rating....To Be Continued... -Part 2: The Harman/Kardon response: I've attached below H/K's response in its entirety and without alteration: "Hi Isaac, Good day! This is ---- from Harman Audio assisting you for today.? We received an email regarding your concern about your Go+Play. I'm sorry to hear that your speaker is not working and not able to use it. For the product that you have, we provide one year Manufacturer's Warranty. For us to check, kindly perform the following information for some isolation and troubleshooting. If using a surge protector with the adapter, try plugging it directly into a working wall outlet or to a working USB port on their computer or laptop. Check if the speaker would turn on while the speaker is plugged in. This would be indicated by a solid indicator light by the power button and the battery indicator lights lighting up in sequence. Check if the power button is still clicking or if the customer is pressing the button too hard. Make sure to use the main USB charger (or power cord+adapter) that came with the speaker. Use a different charger of the same type if possible. Check the charging port for any debris or bent pins. Try moving or wiggling the charger around the charging port, see if there a sweet spot where the speaker would successfully charge. Try charging the unit overnight. Then test the speaker. If the troubleshooting did not work, you may contact re-seller for the extended warranty. Regards, Customer Support Harman Lifestyle Division" I attempted every troubleshooting method recommended by the H/K representative without success. My GO+PLAY still remains a $350 dollar paper weight. In a nutshell, H/K's after warranty position is YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN... I may contact the re-seller (in this case Amazon) and request for an extended warranty, but it seems fruitless. But GOOD NEWS! Square Trade has accepted my claim for repairs. They've offered to repair my GO+PLAY and provided shipping tools and a label for free delivery... To Be Continued... -Part 3) The SquareTrade response. I've attached below SquareTrade's response in its entirety and without alteration: "Dear Isaac, Thanks so much for your patience. After a close inspection of your item, we've determined that a repair is not possible. A reimbursement for your item will be sent to you by check. Please allow 7-10 business days for checks and American Express Gift Cards to arrive. For all other payment types, allow 2-3 business days. Please note that your item will not be returned to you. If you have any questions or concerns about receiving these funds, call us at 1-877-WARRANTY (927-7268) anytime, 24/7. Sincerely, The SquareTrade Team" Unfortunately my GO+PLAY was beyond repair :( But SquareTrade is reimbursing my purchase cost!! In conclusion, BUYER BEWARE!! I highly recommend you purchase insurance if you're considering the GO+PLAY. If by chance you get a lemon, Harmon/Kardon is of no help. Thank you Square Trade!!!

Terrible Battery Life
Fantastic sound. Worked great for a few months then battery wouldn’t stay charged. Same issue many others have reported. For now I use it in the garage and have to keep it plugged in. Beware also….HK will not stand behind this. As a lifetime supporter of HK products this is just terrible. Time to look for another brand I guess.

The search is finally over!
We have been searching for a quality wireless speaker for several years. After returning several Bose, JBL, Vifa and more obscure units we finally decided to give this a try. Since it is on the older side we always passed it by but boy were we missing out! If your main goal is a clear full bodied sound with authoritative bottom end this is your unit. It does run slightly better when plugged in but it still sounds fantastic on battery power. We have finally found what works for us with the Denon 250 for a small carry around and this HK for around the house and pool. It can even puts some higher end bookshelf speakers to shame. Give it a listen and you'll be surprised such well rounded mids, highs and depth can come out of a Bluetooth connection. Well done HK!

Super sound quality...but ....
It’s HK.. better sound than jbl xtream2 but that has other facilities like water proof , higher battery back up but sound quality is not that nice , put extra 3000 rp u will get hk which has super sound quality but less battery back up , not a water proof. Every product on this grade has some flaws and some good ... pay more get more features.. that’s u have to understand...

It easily fills fairly good-size rooms with plenty of high quality ...
I found it to be as advertised--good overall response through bass(very good), mid-range, and treble. It is also smaller than the older version and easier to carry. It easily fills fairly good-size rooms with plenty of high quality sound.
