Taylor 1470N Classic Series Programmable Meat Thermometer with Timer and Alarm

I bought another one because my first one shorted out. I love the thermometer and that it has a magnet to attach to my refrigerator. I use it all the time! It is well worth the money and works great!

Must have in the kitchen really nice

I don't know why but kitchen thermometers have become more cheaply made in the last couple years. Even the more expensive ones haven't worked well. This one works well!

What we were sent was clearly not the same item pictured. The thermometer we received is much *much* cheaper. I was willing to pay a little extra for the exact same reliable white model we've had for 15 years (which only needs replacing now because it got something sticky spilled on it, and the buttons have started to jam.) This one looks like it's made out of the same super-cheap plastic you find in a dollar store toy aisle, the probe cable is plastic instead of metal (I'll have to test it out on something non-vital to see if it melts before I use it on the Thanksgiving turkey), and the button markings are extremely faintly raised-embossed, grey on grey and black on black, so they're impossible to read. The timer and temperature buttons are also the reverse of how our previous model was set up. I'd send it back, but this appears to be how all the newer models are configured.
