The switch fixed my problem with my engine
The switch is exactly what I ordered and arrived on time and was priced comparable to other places I looked

My motor would not shut off when turned the key back to the off position.
The wires were smaller diameter than the one that I had in my boat. A wiring diagram would have made it easier to use. I had to go from a 6 to a 5 wire and keep the old choke separate from the key ๐ . It seems to be working fine now after about 50-60 starts of the motor. Time will tell! ,,, It lasted a little more than one season.I got the broken key out of the old ignition and it went back in. I'm not sure 100% what the problem was. I'll let you know if it happens again.

DANGEROUS! WARNING!
Don't be dumb like me. You are looking at purchasing a component that starts and stops your motor. Buy an OEM version online for $70. I am thoroughly pissed off with this ignition. I purchased one back in 2024 and it lasted about 6 months before the ignition housing broke down the center. So of course I ordered a second one thinking I just had bad luck. The second ignition I bought lasted about 2 trips before sticking in the start position. Even with the key removed, it cranked the motor. I had to kill it with the battery switch. Fortunately we were not on the water when this happened. Save yourself the time and get an OEM ignition. The OEM kit will come with the proper heat shrink as well. Don't buy this thing. It will work for a little bit, then break right past warranty and you'll be rewiring an ignition again. Do it right the first time and buy an OEM one.

Great Budget Ignitiom
Bought this to replace my ignition for my Key West with a 150 Mercury Optimax and it has worked great. The wires were color coded to match the existing colored wires.

Itโll start a boat
Installed and lasted about a year and some change before it went out on me again. Did the job well enough; but it does not have the push to choke feature so Iโve had to use my high idle lever, and from day one the key always falls out with any minor vibrations or bumps from choppy water. Not the best but not the worst either.

Good ignition for outside equipment.
Used on my John Deere lawnmower as the previous one corroded. It's been on it now for over 3 weeks and seems to be working well. No issues with power or function. I like that the key seals over the ignition so water can't get into it and corrode it.
