Worked for a while and now randomly presses buttons on it's own. The pointer indicator is overly sensitive, can't use the remote w/o it appearing forcing you to use it or press up to get rid of it which it comes back constantly when not wanted. ost times when watching tv an arrow pops up on the screen every 10 seconds.

This remote control was not a direct replacement for my old unit despite looking the same, and the magic wand feature working the volume control would not work with my Sonos sound bar as before. I spent hours trying to programme the Sonos and my LG TV, only to find that they are NOT compatible as this unit is not IR but RF. I switch out for another controller without the wand feature, and the volume control worked instantly, to check I then tried with a totally different IR controller (a very simple remote) and it would work where this would not. I do not recommend this product.

The unit I bought last year in July was a perfect replica of the original remote that was lost and worked perfectly. The remote now listed has been changed and the direct to app buttons are abbreviated and is now missing a few of those direct to app buttons that the unit I purchased last year included. This is a different remote and couldn't recommend this when there are other replacement units available on Amazon that duplicate the original LG Magic remote.

Really awful! The wheel button is only responsive if pressed really hard. The cursor tracking moves on its own and drifts badly. The rear door slides off effortlessly. No. That wasn’t a compliment. It’s too loose and just comes off when you slide your hand on the remote to reach a different button. So you are constantly putting the door back on. These things should require minimal effort from quality control. Simply the worst piece of electronics that I have purchased in recent history. This is so flawed, as a matter of fact, that I don’t understand how it received a single good review. It’s that bad.

I bought this one to replace my original remote for my LG tv which was exactly like it. When I got this one it connected just fine and from the start it became incredibly annoying. The cursor on-screen disappears 2-3 seconds after you make it appear, even in the middle of using it. Literally, it's moving from option to option and the cursor disappears making you have to do the damned super hand wave to make it appear, to disappear another 2-3 later. This thing is SO DAMNED ANNOYING I'm almost at the point of just buying another remote of different make and taking this one outside and attaching an M-80 firecracker to it to watch it detonate! The only good thing is that it DOES work, just does everything it possibly can to be the most annoying piece of tech you own you'll want to pull your own hair out. UPDATE: This piece of junk got me so irritated I destroyed it and bought a different remote, I swear it's designed to annoy the customer, no joke.

Junk. I've purchased two of these. Both failed in the same way. The first lasted for a few months. The second one lasted a month. No manual. No website I can find. No help from Baldy other than generic remote intructions that are not applicable to this device. BTW, no kids or animals. Used by mature adults.

The remotes does work with the TV however after a few weeks the buttons do not work every time or when they do it will bring up double digits instead of the single digit you want. The buttons have a very cheap feel unlike other remote buttons. I find now I have to press the button extremely quick or will create the same digit twice causing you to wait until they go away on the screen and force you to start again. I have other remotes with perfectly working buttons and this one is very cheap with intermitting buttons. I would not recommend this remote and would go with a different design all together.

Complete garbage. Do not waste your money. Have to repeatedly press buttons to do anything. It is garbage and is now in my garbage can.

Remote works well including the pointer. No set up required, just insert batteries and you good to go. Very happy with my purchase.

I took a chance on this after seeing the price of the original LG one. My original LG remote stopped working out of the blue, with the light stuck on as if a button was stuck down. I took it to bits, cleaned it, replaced the batteries, re-paired to the TV but it didn't help so I resigned myself to replacing it. This one is identical to the original, except maybe slightly lighter? The magic pointer feature works fine as does the voice remote and I've found no issues using it with my 3 year old LG SM8050PLC. Hopefully I won't need to but would definitely buy again.

Our son lost the original remote, so we took a chance on this replacement and it worked perfectly. It functions just like the original with no issues at all. Super easy to set up and use. Great replacement option!
