The first Rocky Mountain Barber Company beard balm I ordered was the full size tin of the Cedarwood scent. I found I like the balm and I liked the Cedarwood scent. Then I found this four pack and ordered it to see what the other scents were like. Everyone has a different preference so I will not attempt to describe the scents. What smells good to one person smells different to another. There are times when I prefer no scent at all. The unscented fills that preference very nicely. Of the other three I find Sandalwood to be the strongest and longest lasting. The Cedarwood also has a longer lasting scent, but not as long as Sandalwood. This leaves Bamboo as the fastest for the scent to fade. As far as the scent goes, my least favorite is Sandalwood, due to the strong long lingering scent. It reminds me of the scent of a candle my wife has. My personal favorite of the three scented balms is Bamboo, but Cedarwood come in a very close second. Cedarwood has a pleasant scent and the scent lasts longer than Bamboo. I highly recommend the Rocky Mountain Barber Company beard balms. These beard balms are labeled as being Made in Canada. I will be a repeat customer and recommend any of these beard balms to other men who wish to have their beard appear as if they just stepped out of the barber's chair. Well, the Cheetocracy got me looking for good quality Canadian products for my rough, wiry beard so as not to support the tangerine tyrant. These are good quality and moisturize and condition very well! Beard is definitely softer and more controllable, and it's nice on the skin too. I do prefer a beard butter to a balm with wax like this but these aren't TOO waxy if that makes sense. For the scents see below. Presented in order of fragrance "punch" from a playful jab to a "take their head off" haymaker!: Unscented: Keep in mind this doesn't mean NO scent, just means no scent ADDED. It has a very faint smell but would be good for scent free workplaces or those with sensitive sniffers. Bamboo: As a human and not a Panda, I can honestly say that I have no idea what bamboo is supposed to smell like. I don't hate it, but it smells a bit like pulling on the white New Balance Sneakers, cracking a cold one and firing up the mower to add the perfect stripes on your suburban lawn with the picket fence. Mmmm... fresh cut lawn! Sandalwood: Well, it definitely smells better than my Birkenstocks after a hot summer, so that's nice. It's quite nice, not too strong and fades with time. Lots of compliments on this one! Pretty similar to other sandalwood shaving products, but not as cloying IMO. Cedarwood: Picture this... It's a hot humid summer. You're on the run from Johnny Law and hiding out in the forest for a month surviving on twigs and bugs with the occasional squirrel you manage to snare with a shoelace and your wits! Finally, they track you down and take you to jail where you think you can finally relax a bit. But before you can get to your own cell for some peace and quiet, you're ruthlessly assaulted and violated by a group of burly, angry Cedar Trees in the prison laundry. They're not gentle and your tears just reactivate the scent trapped in your glorious beard which makes your eyes water, which just reactivates the scent and on and on and on. I wouldn't even say it's a nice cedar smell like the Spanish cedar in a humidor or cigar box... this is angry cedar with a score to settle and you're gonna feel it! (Didn't love this scent)

Work as it should, good scents too. However, it drys up pretty fast if your not using them in certain amount of time. You'll have to apply it everyday otherwise it goes bad (lumps forming in the balm)

I have been looking for a balm that is a little waxier than most, which seem to be more oily. This product seems to be more between a balm and a wax, which is exactly what I wanted! It helps easily control unruly beard hairs and keep everything looking, and smelling, great. I purchased the variety pack since I have not used this product previously and I really enjoy all of the scents, and the unscented one - so I may just purchase this again in the future! Plus the smaller tins of balm are nice to have on hand in the office, at home, etc. so I can always touch up the beard!

I ordered this variety pack after using beard oils for the past few years. Now that my beard is a bit longer, I decided to go with a balm instead. The only one that I have dropped from my daily rotation is the cedarwood, which I found overpowering. The sandalwood is my favourite, while it is a bit strong, it smells fantastic. The bamboo also smells great but is more subtle. The classic is scent free, which I find to be a nice change from the scents. All of them have made my beard look great while hydrating the skin underneath through daily application. As this is not a wax, it does not excel at shaping your beard, although it does help a bit with control, especially when compared with a beard oil. I would definitely purchase this brand of balm again!
