This is one of the best aquarium accessories I've purchased. It makes cleaning algae off the glass much easier than it was with the magnetic scrubber, which means the cleaning happens more often and the tank looks better. I'm impressed with the sturdiness of the handle, and it comes with 10 or so double-sided replacement blades. The blades are sharp enough to remove the algae without trouble, but blunt enough that they aren't dangerous. All around a well designed product.

This is what I needed. First off, when placing rocks in your aquarium, make sure to leave enough space between the aquarium glass and the rock. For what? To clean! I didn't pay attention to rock placement and developed an algae spot that I couldn't get to no matter what I used. I bought 2 different glass magnets to no avail. I bought a long sponge type cleaner, that didn't fit as well. After a year of ignoring it, I finally looked for something else. I found this. Guess what? No more algae spot in that tight space! I was also developing these algae spots that were really stuck on the glass and wouldn't come off with the magnets. This took care of it with ease! My tank is looking crisp now! Buy it for those difficult jobs.

I literally raved about this thing to a co-worker. I can't believe how well it works! I have multiple steel algae scrapers with different sizes that didn't work well at all. I also have the magnet scraper and the scrubber pad with a handle that looks like the green side of a sponge. All are inferior. This thing is unbelievable. You have to put the little scraper piece in but it comes with the tool you need to install it and takes a few seconds. My tank has never been this clean. I tried it on curved plastic and it kept getting caught, but scraped off some algea, so stick to straight glass and you'll be impressed.

Doesn’t clear algae in one scrape, leaves streaks but if you go at it a few times it’ll clear it all. Does its purpose, but with a bit of elbow grease. Not the worst tool ever, and has been helpful. Good size!

Have no idea why I put off getting this item for our aquarium. This scraper worked amazing for removing any and all hard attached algae. The stuff one always dreaded having to reach down in the tank and scrub by hand. Concerned of its construction it is very durable with its screw together aluminum rods and a very strong hard plastic blade attachment. Easy to install and change blades along with a nice protective cap that snaps onto it when not in use. Had the tank clean I no time with zero mess. Scrape, vacume and wala tank is spotless. Blade angle adjustment makes it easy to use at different angles since we have shelving above our tank.

Previous to getting this tool I used a little scraping blade to clean the sides of my tanks. I will never go back. Not only is this wider than the old blade, but since my whole hand isn't in the water when cleaning the glass, when I move my blade away it doesn't cause such a huge vortex where the algae gets moved all over the place. I can carefully move away the blade and the algae mostly stays in the same place, where I can then suck it up with a vacuum later. It also COMPLETELY removes the algae! the blade is so sharp that it is a total night and day difference when I use it. It is one of the most satisfying things ever. I have a small tank specifically used for growing algae on pieces of plastic that I then transfer into another tank for my ottocinclus and bristlenose plecos to eat, and every now and then I remove the algae from the glass so that the nutrients can be used by the algae on the plastic, and so normally there is quite a buildup by the time I get to it. This tool removes it in sheets. The algae kind of sticks together and just falls down like a curtain crumpled on the floor, and then I can come by and get rid of it in one swoop with almost no algae floating away into the water column (which wouldn't be a problem for me, but in a normal tank it would be). One thing about it that I don't know yet, is if it rusts. I tend to leave it not completely dry so it opens up to possible rusting. I haven't noticed any so far (already way better than normal blades that will rust overnight if water is left on it) but I don't know if it is rusting inside of the holder where water may be getting trapped.

This really works, went from a green algae covered aquarium to crisp and clean in 10 mins, just turn off your filter and gravel vac all the floating algae

I can clean my glass without getting wet. The fine blade is very effective. Wide blade means I can clean the glass in my 30cm cube in just a few minutes. Comes with a safety cover.

Awesome cleaner! Diatoms and algae slough off with ease. It will scratch your glass if you’re at too deep of an angle or it’s not flat on the glass, so take your time and don’t try to maneuver around obstacles like a heater. So much faster than using a scrubber. Feels well built and has no signs of rust after using it for a few months. Recommend!

Some products go the extra step, this one was designed excellent, comes with a screwdriver for removing the blade, and 10 extra blades, the handle screws together for easy use & break-down for storage. Highly recommend, got rid of my algae in the hard to reach places the magnet type scrapers can't reach!

Works really well for my 50 gallon tank

The blade makes all the difference. It’s not the usual square razor blade. This one is larger with rounded corners. I used to have to scrape up and down many times over an algae spot before it as cleaned. With this scrapper all it takes is one scrape and the algae is gone. Only thing I am not fond of is the tilt angle screw mechanism that seems somewhat weak/flimsy to me.
