I used them to convert a handbag and it weighs like 5 lbs so I dont no beyond that

can I use with a Raffia Straw Bag?

I believe the weave would be too open if it is only raffia. If the bag is lined and better interlined/supported under the handles alone I believe it would work beautifully.
