Yes you can. They sell a brushless motor and esc combo that fits it or you Dan try to add your own. But the bad part about this rc is certain parts are nearly impossible to find so if you break something which will happen once you start adding more speed it will be harder to find the part and the only you spend to do that motor upgrade you can just buy a arrma granite basic one and upgrade that one easier to find parts and is around $100
