Kleen #1810 10lb Kleen Sweep Plus

I’ve used a couple brands and this is the best! Used on concrete floors that were previously flooded so there was a great deal of silt and dust. This knocked it right off. Happy

You know how it goes. You go out to sweep the garage, and all you do is put a bunch of dust in the air that will later settle right back where it was. Then, you spend the next 14 hours coughing up one of your lungs because of all of the dust you inhaled. When COVID19 started, I had plenty of masks around because I needed one every time I swept my patios. Well, no more. One day, I was like "I wonder if they still make that sweeping compound from when I was a kid." I don't know if this is the same sweeping compound from when I was a kid, but it's pretty similar. It works like magic. Essentially, it adds just a little bit of moisture to what you're sweeping so that you can pick it up without it making poofy clouds of dust everywhere. I also noticed immediately how much cleaner my patio looked. Before using the sweeping compound, I would end up with streaks of dust everywhere. I was constantly knocking the dust off the broom to little effect, and sweeping my back patio was typically about a 10 minute job. With the sweeping compound, it takes about two minutes, and the end result looks much better. I'm also glad to hear it's non-toxic because as soon as I dropped some on the floor, one of the cats had to come and taste it to ensure that it was safe. One thing to note is that you can buy a 50 pound bag for a much better price, but I don't think I'd be able to use a 50 pound bag quickly enough.

This compound is not for use on rough surfaces. The "granules" are already pretty fine, the smallest about the size of sesame seeds. I call them granules, but they look like micro-shredded cardboard with green food coloring added. Some of them will clump together, as is the nature of the product. It's not sticky really, but does pick up dust and dirt like a magnet. It's amazing on drywall compound sanding dust. If used on a smooth surface, almost all the product will be able to be retrieved by a simple sweeping. However if this it used on something like roughened concrete, or that with a deeply grooved brushed finish, or brick patio, or similar, this stuff will be abrasively shredded further into micro-fragmented, super tiny pieces, and these pieces will get stuck in the cracks and crevices of the rough surface. In order to get these out, the surface will need to be vacuumed, or if you have the option (outdoors?), blown off. No amount of sweeping or using more compound will get those super small pieces out again. I doubt this stuff takes well to water or other wet stuff, as it is in the directions to use it dry.

It just takes a little bit to go a long way and hold the dust down while sweeping. It also makes sweeping more efficient and gets more dust and dirt into the pan.

This is a high quality sweeping compound. It was a lifesaver when we moved into a home with a very dirty, old garage. It did the job and picked up all the loose dust making it easier to clean up and much, much easier on the lungs. My only wish is that is was just a little less pricey. I feel like for such a small bag its a little steep for what it is. That said, a little goes a long way and a small bag will last a long time

This doesn't seem like it does much

Years ago, I rented space in an old warehouse repurposed as artist studios. It was a typical garage setting where everything was visibly dirty: metal and wood shavings, paint, mud, chemicals, oil, grease, you name it. Another tenant always cleaned up his space (a rarity) and it was surprisingly clean! I asked of his trickery and he told me about Kleen Sweep. The consistency of the product is like green wet sand, just scoop and spread it out (just like tossing ice melt). Let it sit and settle so it’ll start to absorb the mess. Kleen sweep “grips” the dirt while sweeping (I like a rubber broom). The leftover piles are exponentially larger than the original amount of product put down because it grabbed all the dust. Results are like a magic trick. If you have a garage or a basement or your own warehouse, this is a must-have in your arsenal.

two months on a shelf unopened and it started growing white fungus looking stuff. The shelf it was on had white powder all all over it.
