Is the center bowl attached to the plate?

No the center dipping bowl is separate. My daughter bought this for me for Christmas. Been looking for years for this low bowl style and size. I liked the size so much for small groups I ordered another one for both fruits and veggies. Absolutely love it and makes a beautiful table setting.

How big is the center flat portion?

About six inches in diameter. Please be aware, though, that it is not completely flat. It has a slightly raised circle in the middle to keep the dip cup in place.

Is it able to be used in microwave?

I would not put Crystal in the microwave

I love a good Godinger product! I’m eager to grow my collection. Their pieces are always beautiful, amazingly priced, and always score me some compliments!
