What is the depth of the skimmer part?

Not very. It's about an inch deep.

A question for the wire skimmer (the one with smooth circles) - is it deep enough to get something larger like fried chicken with good control?

I think so. I use it to lift out large chicken thighs cooking in a large pot and it works very well.

Are all their products really made in china??? i thought it was germany but they did the good ol "engineered in germany" (but made in china...) muhaha

Sadly, I believe that most of their products are. However, a few months ago I purchased their food mill which is still made in Germany.

Ustensile de haute qualité indispensable en cuisine

Qu'il s'agisse de friture ou de préparer des pâtes, notamment tortellini, gnocchi, farfalle, penne et d'autres encore (mais pas les spaghetti) l'araignée est indispensable et ne retient pas le liquide, contrairement à une écumoire. Cet ustensile Rösle en inox est de haute qualité et durera de très très longues années !

E' sicuramente di buona fattura e molto bella visivamente. Se devo trovare un difetto forse è un po' pesante. Comunque la consiglio anche se il prezzo è più alto rispetto alla media.

「陽峯産業 18-8 すくいっこ LL」を揚げ物など便利に使っていましたが、柄の根本と掬う部分の溶接が一部が外れて、バネの様にびろんびろんになってしまったので買い直そうとした時、割引されてほぼ同じ値段で見るからに丈夫そうなこの商品を発見しました。すくいっこ LLより柄が長く、掬う部分も大きいですが、かなり丈夫そうで業務用！って感じで一生買い直す事はないと思います
