I must say that it came together...I never tried to take it apart. Maybe contact the manufacturer. It is a wonderful chair.

It’s a little difficult , my wife was seated in it (210 lbs) But if you lift the back while pushing it’s not too hard you can slide the back around. Great on sand, it glides… Wheels on the one we rented were on straight axels
