This thing is BY FAR the BEST finisher I have found! Nice and big for better grip and man its so smooth just all around. 10 out of 10 I would order again!

good but different than original
the angle of the hook is different than the standard Dr Slick whip finisher. takes a little bit to get use to it.

Solid but poor design
I have been a fly tier for 40 years and I wanted to add another whip finisher to my collection. I bought this one. First, this is a well-built tool that I donโt think will ever fall apart like some of the cheap tools I have used. It is made of good materials and is solid. However, the curved pocket in the perpendicular arm isnโt deep enough to hold the loop of thread throughout the finishing process. The thread consistently falls off and releases the tension of the thread. Some of my hackles have come loose because of this.I donโt want to spend time relearning the whip finishing process, so I bought two other brands since purchasing this one. They both work great!

Works fine. Significantly larger than Std tool
It works good. I thought the "dent" to hold the loop was a littletoo "flat", it didn't hold my loop unless I used it very carefully.BUT a little judicious bending fixed that quickly.I attached a photo so you can see how much bigger the 6"Dr. Slick Whip finisher is than the one I got in my fly tying kit.No problem getting the whip loops over my jig head now!

Whip finish part isn't "jumbo" at all
Well, when they say "jumbo" they don't mean the whip finish part. Turns out that the handle is "jumbo" but the whip finish part is anything but... as a matter of fact it's pretty small for a whip finish tool. I bought it to tie hoppers and larger flies, but it's smaller than my standard size whip finish tool. So just know that it's the handle that's big, not the actual business end. I still give it four stars, because it is nicely made and works fine. Just maybe needs a better description.

It will work, but not sure if it is the best one ever made.
I am happy with it. It does the job and does it well so I can't complain. It feels like it will hold up for a long time, but I don't know for sure. This is my first one, and I am happy with it. I like the hollow tip for pushing back hackle after wrapping so I can tie off string etc. I like it.

???
It was described as jumbo but only the handle is jumbo the actual head is small. Other than that it seems well made
