They do well at that, we can clearly hear each other, no buzzing or anything like that. Just clear communications when wanted. Radio function isn't the greatest sounding. Music sounds better blue-toothed from a phone but not great speakers. Decent speakers. I think it's distracting to ride listening to music but also I don't go more then about 70 miles one way from home. I could see music on long trips down the highway. These will work but you won't be blow away by the sound. Base isn't that great. I also don't have any other way to compare these to the high end systems. ...They may be better sound wise but I don't know for sure? Blue toothed to my phone, works well with navigation. For the price this will do everything you need while riding two up or if you need navigation. I have no other uses for these and they are so much cheaper then the top end brands.
