TEDCO Precision Gyroscope (colors may vary)

It is a very fine product which functions perfectly to demonstrate the principles of gyroscope. My kids love to play with it. A must have for teachers, parents and kids who want their kids to feel the magic of science.

Bought this for my just turned 5 year old Grandson to demonstrate how the "gyro-helicopters" and "drones" work. He is a kid with everything and is deep into Legos. We watched the videos and he was super excited about getting one. Not being in the stores, we had to wait for delivery. Every day he was filled with anticipation of this "magical gift" He actually got a new bike for his birthday and shocked his parents by only asking if the "gyroscope" had arrived. The gyroscope came in his favorite color "neon green" and it was an immediate hit. The gyroscope itself works flawlessly and can actually spin for a couple of minutes. We purchased the old string model as well and this one is certainly better built and the pull piece made it easy for him to use it with ease. There probably are not enough words to express how much he loves this "toy" He gives shows to whoever is around showing the tricks and spends countless hours just spinning it in every variation. Three months later, I see him during my calls on Facetime, still being obsessed with and showing me his latest trick. When I say "trick" he actually is dropping the spinning gyroscope on the floor and it just spins away. I strongly recommend this gyroscope as a great teaching and fun filled toy.

Some theories say that this toy and the gyroscopes, in general, keep their position when they run, because of the torsion fields.

I got this to replace the metal one I got for my son last year. I bought it specifically because the plastic frame is attached to the gyroscope. His metal one didn't sit snuggly inside anymore and he couldn't pull the string without it detaching, so he couldn't make it spin fast enough. This one is very sturdy and durable. It spins great and he loves it. The only con is that the rip cord-which is WAY easier than threading a string each time, does wear out fairly quickly. It's still working after 2 months of use, but I can see that the threading on it is starting to wear down already. While it may not be a top precision model, I think for what you pay for it it's a great toy with fun coolness factor.
