KOHLER GENUINE PART GP49114 FLAPPER (RED BALL), 2 In.

We have an older home built in the late 80's with the American Standard toilets. I changed the fill valve and flapper, but the toilet continued to leak water into the bowl and the flapper didn't stay suspended in the tank water to get a complete flush. I tried a different brand of flapper, both of which did not work. They were more like the flat type with a cone/bulb on the bottom. Both of these flappers would not stay afloat in the tank long enough to get the toilet flush correctly. I'd have to hold the toilet handle down for 3 or 4 seconds to make the water in the bowl go down. Then I tried this Kohler bulb type flapper and the toilet works like it should. Push the handle down and the flapper stays suspended in the tank water long enough to get a complete flush. Very easy to install, it fits perfect and it didn't cost very much.

My toilets have leaked on and off for awhile and I have tried other flappers from hardware stores to no avail. I thought after googling it enough I finally found the silver bullet for my Kohler toilets. But I was again disappointed after the toilets still leaked. But as I gave up and turned my toilets off as I noticed them running one day I realized I haven't had to turn them off anymore and they stopped leaking. Apparently they have formed to the seat and now work great!

Works as advertised on 40+ year old toilet. Easy to install and it fit perfectly.

I could just buy a brand new toilet. She said all you need is a flapper. :( So bought a Universal One on Amazon it was flat and wider at the base but the water constantly leaked through. I couldn't have that and don't trust anything that says "Universal" even a remote control. IMO! You don't want to be fishing around in the back of your toilet more than you have too. Anyways, the Flapper. Yes, I read the Amazon reviews and there are so many cool flappers/balls that I never even knew but not for my toilet, they're for newer toilets like the lucky people own. I had to return the universal one for a refund and got free shipping back and price/tax 100% refunded. The model number and date it was produced was on the back of the tank and Amazonians here steered me to this one. It works great. **HOWEVER** My handle seemed sloppy after pushing it down to flush. My handle had 3-holes in it so went to the end one to take the most slack out and it was still fairly sloppy. So I folded the chain links up and reattached the chain through the clip for a tighter chain. It seems to work good now and I would of gave it 5-stars if it was ready,set, go. It is a well made item. Fits better in the Kohler toilet bowl, than the other types of flappers.

I ordered the wrong flappers so had to return. My fault not fault of the product.

This is a genuine Kohler part and is easy to install. Despite living in a city which has super hard water-10 grains-this part lasts for years.

Just installed, put Blue Dye in the Tank and, YAY, no leaks. Works great!
