Well designed, convenient, easy setup, great service
This gate is really great - and I've had probably a dozen different brands/models/etc, all the pressure fit type (vs wall mounted). The auto-close feature works better and more reliably/consistently than any other one I've had. The mechanism to unlatch is really user friendly but definitely baby/toddler proof. The only downside is having to also lift; that may just be a downside for me because of muscle weakness. It's not really a problem, but I wish I didn't have to lift it. (Then again, it also ensures no little ones accidentally get through!) The setup was exceedingly simple, and I really appreciate that the package includes a few width adapters so it really fits well in any opening (within the specified range). I did have a small, seemingly inconsequential plastic piece break off a couple weeks after install. The gate functions normally without it, and it doesn't seem to be a pinch hazard. But I contacted the company (because they would know for sure), and they are sending me a replacement gate for free. So that's amazing customer service. 10/10 would buy again, and would try to buy from them for other products!!

Good see thru blockade
... to keep small children (older ones of around 3 will learn how to operate the gate latch) and medium to large dogs corralled and out of harms way - especially the kitchen while cooking. They can see and "talk" to you without getting under foot ... no banging / scratching and caterwaling at a shut door. Okay, they can still do that through the gate but usually it is less so; AND it is easier to keep an eye and ear on them. Once properly installed, it works well and is very sturdy and durable. There are a couple of different sized endpieces to adjust the gate's size to different size door openings. However, those just "fit" into the gate with nonlatching metal pins into holes in one or both sides of the main gate part. So you may have some trouble holding one or both of those in place while fitting and tightening the appropriately sized gate configuration into a door opening. Pins with popin round ball latches would help, but I guess that would add cost and be another part that could break. HINTS - it is probably best to install the gate on the nonopening side of the door, so the door can still be closed with the gate in place. The plastic screw adjustable metal screw barrels (two for each side, each with a circular padded head) for clamping the gate into the door frame just slip into holes on the gate (or extensions) and may fall out during installation if one is not careful. Also, it takes a good amount of hand strength to adequately tighten those (at least on one side) against the door frame to secure the gate - so you might need some thin channel lock pliers to help. BEWARE - the latching side of the gate is under strong outward tension and is only connected by a stiff rail at the bottom. SO, taking the zip tie off of its top portion before installation can make the install harder (must be squeezed manually together to install). As I sometimes put it away or change its location, I velcro strap that before taking it apart for relocation. Such a strap should actually be used / supplied by the manufacturer rather than a one use only plastic zip tie! ALSO, even with good tightening against the door frame, opening and closing the gate OR accidentally kicking the lower gate frame bar may result in knocking the gate out of alignment, which can cause the gate latch to not work well or at all. SO, avoid slamming and try to remember to step OVER that lower bar.

Great baby/pet Gate
This is a great gate for childeren or pets. I used it for pets and it is nice to have the gate that opens when you need to. Very easy to use and set up and comes with all the parts needed for wider openings. the tension is kept well when set up. and the hight is perfect with a bit of extra hight than a normal gate.

Well made door gate, Horrific instruction manual.
The physical gate is 5 stars however the instructions are only 2 starts hence the lower grade. Gate is made of metal and is strong enough to hold its shape as the tension bolts expand. The latch quality is excellent. When installed properly the gate swings shut and locks. When opened all the way it stays open. Missing notes for installation: The instructions are in the ziplock bag with "SAFETY GATE" in large letters. "User Manual (Guide) is below in a font half the size. The wall cups must be put on the tension bolts first. Place stick pads on but they don't tell you which side has the glue and peel off paper. Apply to the *outside* of each wall cup. The bolts don't screw into the gate, they use the same holes as the extension pieces which require a larger hole. So just push the bolt in, no need to screw them in.. Rotate the center round nut until it press against the gate frame and the other wall pad end against the wall. At this point make sure the gate is square, level, and centered on the wall. If this is not done correctly there is a chance the tension bolts could slide off the wall and the gate will fall down. This manufacture decided to use a ziptie to hold the door latch to gate to frame. If the door is sticking, slowly loosen the top bolts from either side until there is just enough room for the gate to swing shut without touching the gate frame. According to another company this gap is about 2mm. If the the top bolts are loosen too much the gate may not have enough tension to hold on to the wall. By the way that "Metal key" like object is used to help tighten the nuts. It fits into a slot on the outer ring of the nut. This gives more leverage to tighten the bolt. Hope these notes help. Once the gate latch is calibrated, it opens and closes as advertised.

Great product!
For the past three years, my wife and I have been stepping over a baby gate that keeps our dogs in the back portion of our home. It did not have an easy open gate, so we left it installed and stepped over it every time we went in our kitchen. When my son and his wife were visiting a few weeks ago with their infant, we decided it was time to upgrade to something safer. Here’s what I like this one: 1) It was quick and easy to install. 2) It is nice looking, extremely sturdy and well-made. 3) It did not require any tools to assemble that weren’t in the carton. 4) The walls We’re not damaged in any way, as nothing had to be screwed into them. 5) The gate is easy to open with one hand. 6) We are no longer at risk of tripping from stepping over the gate.

As pet owners, one of our biggest challenges has always been managing our dogs’ enthusiasm—especially when guests arrive or when the front door opens. Whether they’re bolting outside or jumping on visitors, it can get chaotic quickly. After trying a few different solutions, we finally decided to purchase this baby gate, and it’s been a total game changer. Perfect for Containing Our Dogs Near the Door One of the primary reasons we bought this baby gate was to prevent our dogs from darting out the front door every time it opens. Let’s face it, dogs are quick, and the excitement of a guest arriving or a doorbell ringing can trigger a race to the door. Since installing the gate, we no longer have to stress about them bolting outside. It’s sturdy and wide enough to span our front hallway, so it effectively blocks their access to the door when we have company or need to leave the house. Keeps Them Safe in a Controlled Space Another huge benefit is how well it fits in our hallway. The gate helps us create a designated “safe space” for our dogs when we have guests over. Instead of worrying about them running around or getting into trouble, we can easily keep them contained in one area without feeling like they’re missing out. It’s also made life a lot easier when we’re cooking, cleaning, or having conversations with guests—we don’t have to constantly keep an eye on them or worry about accidents. They’re happy, safe, and not underfoot. Design and Installation This gate is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. It’s simple yet stylish, blending seamlessly with our home’s decor. The materials feel durable, and the locking mechanism is easy to use but secure. It was also surprisingly easy to install. We didn’t need to drill into the walls or do anything complicated—just a few simple adjustments, and it was up and working in no time. It’s adjustable, so it works for a variety of door frames and widths, which was a plus for us. Great for Busy Households For those with dogs (or even small children), this gate is a lifesaver. We no longer have to worry about visitors being overwhelmed by a dog jumping on them or trying to dodge them as they come through the door. Our dogs have gotten used to it, and it's clear they feel secure in their designated space without constantly running around. Plus, since it’s a “baby gate,” it’s high enough that the dogs can’t jump over it, which was a concern with other gates we’ve tried.

I bought this gate to stop my cunning dog from breaking into the kitchen. So far, so good. It's relatively easy to assemble, sturdy and tall enough for a medium sized dog not to jump over it.
