This was so fun, good price, and easy to follow along with. I enjoyed making the mochi and it really came out great. Messy? Yes. But overall easy to follow along with, tasted great, good price, and fun activity for all.

Its slightly pricey for what it is, but they were good, easy to make (way less messy than I anticipated) and fun. Got it as a birthday gift for my niece and we made them together. She (12) was able to do most of it by herself but had a little trouble wrapping the dough over the ice cream. Make sure you freeze ice cream overnight. Tried both overnight and freezing for just 2 hours and they were way easier to wrap the dough on the frozen overnight ones. Would be nice to have 2 of the ice cream molds.

My daughter loves mochi so I bought this for her. She’s 12 and attempted this on her own. It didn’t work out so I made them for her. It’s definitely a messy, sticky task. I would go as far as to say frustrating, too. I’ll chalk that up to being a beginner. I had trouble rolling out the dough without it sticking to absolutely everything, even after dusting it as recommended in the instructions. I would caution against buying this for children.

My husband is a practical guy. He doesn’t like a lot of clutter and junk lying around even if it was given with the best of intentions - so, I’ve started gifting him experiences. He loves cooking and exploring cultures through food, so i thought this might be right up his alley ! I know he’ll love it and he’ll come away from this having learned something new about a topic he’s interested in. This kit doesn’t have everything you need, but it’s 2 ingredients you likely have or come across often, so it’s not a huge deal. The instructions are easy to understand and clear cut. This is a great little gift !
