Sturdy. Very reflective and spins with ease. The only reason to give it less stars is if you weren’t expecting to have to put them together. It does suck putting them together but after that they’re awesome.

Birds are building nests in very inconvenient locations very close to my house so I wanted a humane and pretty way to keep them at bay. I will say, the included instructions are not helpful. The installation video was helpful for a moment but not when I couldn’t figure out why my pinwheels didn’t spin. The video is also way too fast paced. It took me an hour to put them together (because of troubleshooting…and taking them apart and putting them back together again, four times before figuring out how to actually put them together AND have them spin). But, hopefully my instructions will help those of you who are struggling to put such a simple-looking item together. I really never thought I would have to post instructions for putting a pinwheel together but here it goes. Photos should correlate with each step. 1. Lay out one full pinwheel set 2. Start by inserting a section of pinwheel flap over the small hollow connector. The very important key here is to make sure the SLIM end is facing the OUTSIDE. the WIDE end should be facing the INSIDE. 3. Continue layering each pinwheel flap on top of the previous flap over the SLIM side. 4. You have completed the difficult part. Pat yourself on the back. 5. Put the decorative circular cover over top of the SLIM side to cover the pinwheel flap layers. I chose the silver color but it is reversible with a star on the other side. 6. Insert the white arm through the back of the pinwheel and into the WIDE part of the connector. 7. It will be difficult to push the arm into the wide connector but continue pushing until you hear a CLICK. Yes, it will click. If it has not clicked, it has not been secured properly and will not spin. 8. You are done! Reward yourself for your patience. I could only make 9 pinwheels because I was missing one connector. I was able to tape the pinwheel sections together and get by without the connector. It still spins, but not as well as the ones with connectors. I will say that the durability seems pretty good as I had to take them apart multiple times and put them back together to fix my mistakes. Nothing ripped which was impressive. If you do not mind spending a little bit of time to put them together, I would say buy them. If you have arthritis in your hands or difficulty using fine motor skills, just buy them at the dollar store instead. I really only bought these for the patriotic pattern.

UPDATED REVIEW. I contacted the seller about the missing piece. Although they were unable to send the missing piece, they gave me a $2 refund, which I thought was fair due to still having 9 working pinwheels. Original review: I would have given more stars but I only received enough parts to make 9 pinwheels, and they are kind of a pain to put together. They do look nice and have been spinning nicely in my garden. I just don’t appreciate not getting everything I paid for. I only discovered the missing piece after spending all the time putting the rest of them together, or I would have returned the set.

For the price, compared just buying them ready to go at the dollar store, they were not worth it. They are pretty, yes. Spinner part was not complicated to put together, BUT the little tiny knob that you need to put on the end to hold it together was VERY HARD to get on and you must do it while holding the rest of it together. That was awful. Then the end with the knob was sooooo tight the spinner wouldn't spin. I had to purchase some silicone lube to try to get it to work. Now it was way more expensive than the pre-made ones. Too much of my time and work. And ultimately more expensive.

Easy to assemble and so far that I have seen, IT WORKS! I haven’t seen the birds around here anymore! No more bird poo on my porch 🎉😁

These pinwheels are an absolute breeze to put together. I knocked out all 10 of them in about 15 minutes flat. They look awesome—that holographic, sparkly material really catches the eye. Simple, fast, and exactly what I was hoping for!

If you follow the instructions, they are likely NIOT going to spin well. Quickly note the "stopper" isn't your friend if you place holes of wings onto it. You should switch directions #2 and #3. If the holes are put onto spindle first and then stopper you should not have any issues with it spinning. I do think they are a little expensive for what you get and having to put them together.

These were not simple or easy to put together. IDK why we thought they would come assembled, it actually makes sense that they wee not. One broke during assembly in every pack that we made. They functioned as good as expected. We used them for a yard decoration for graduation

Put a few of these amongst newly planted seedlings & they seem to be working at keeping the birds away from them.
