I write this review because I was worried that the vibration shaker finally gave out, but apparently it just needed unplugging and plugging back in. As the title states, I got this alarm clock 10 years ago because I needed something that would still wake me up without disturbing other members of the household; the vibration shaker was the perfect solution for my needs. The decibel alarm itself is very effectively loud, so I cannot speak for it as much as I only used the vibration option to wake up in the morning, but I love this clock dearly. The accuracy of the alarm triggering is always spot on, the time display is very much visible and easy to read. The black/red appearance of it is a favorite color combination of mine. I cannot speak for the battery life as I've only left the clock plugged into the wall, but I'm sure it's just as good as the rest of its functions. The first few times you use the vibration shaker, it'll jostle you for sure, but you'll quickly get used to it and I find it necessary to use alongside my phone alarm to get me up in the mornings. Unfortunately the price is higher than what I paid back then, but considering general inflation over time and the quality of this clock? I'd buy it again easily. In need of a forever(?) alarm clock? Look no further!

Alright, I got a long review. So bear with me. First, back in high school, I struggled to find the perfect alarm clock to wake me up, bc I’m hearing impaired and a simple alarm clock on my phone will not work. I tried several brands. One with a flashing lamp. Which doesn’t really work. I tried other brands that also had a vibrating disk. But they quickly broke. So it wasn’t durable. Then I came across sonic boom. And honestly, the product I got had lasted more than ten years. And it’s really impressive The alarm volume is loud enough, not too loud or obnoxious. And the sound can also be adjusted as well The LED for the time can actually be adjusted for brightness if you can’t deal with light while you’re trying to sleep. Which is super cool And the buttons for changing the time… I actually don’t like this. I would have to press really hard to actually get it to move forward. And to me, it’s not really easy to do. Plus, if you accidentally went over your target time, you have to cycle a full 24 hours until you get your desired time. My one suggestion to make this easier is this: Here’s our format ##:## Toggle one of the ##, and you can easily change it. And toggle to the next ## to change it, and then assign that as either AM or PM. That way we don’t need to keep cycling a full 24 hours to get the desired time But that’s just my suggestion. But I do understand that sonic boom is made to be simple, but the buttons aren’t fun to press or adjust so I try to avoid changing it at all Thankfully, this clock brand does give you an option to create two different alarm. Like, one at 5am and one at 8am. Which saves you the trouble of resetting it every time. In addition, the alarm does flash light. It’s not too bright, but it does help me register my sleepy mind that my alarm is screaming at me. And the disk. It’s perfect. It wakes me up without issues. And it’s extremely durable. And the best part? It has a five year warranty. So if I were you, I would definitely save any paper from the box. And this battery also takes a backup battery called a V9. In case your power goes out. I bought another one bc I saw that my alarm clock kept resetting itself. It still works, but research tells me that it started to wear down and any electronics, like wireless charging pad can actually disrupt the compacitor - I forget what’s it’s called or spelled. But basically my old clock is starting to show its age. So I bought another just in case. All in all, this is definitely worth the $40. And I do recommend this brand to anyone.

I ordered this alarm clock because the previous one I had bought the farm. It got old, dusty and just didn't work properly after about 6 years. No these won't last forever, as with most things manufactured these days, but they are a nice touch if you really need to wake up at a specific time. The included vibrating attachment is very loud, should you choose to connect it. I didn't want to be late for work a few days during crunch time so I plugged it in and set it inside my bedside drawer. Needless to say, I woke up. As far as setting the time goes, it's got a slow and fast ticker. There is no reversing, so if you miss the minute you want, you have to sit for a while to dial it in. You can also set TWO alarms on this clock and both can be activated at the same time, or just one or the other. The numbers come in a classic red as shown in the listing picture, and is dimmable if desired. I highly recommend this for anyone having trouble getting out of bed (just set it in another room to avoid the snooze button)

Second one of these Sonic Boom alarm clocks I have owned, first lasting approximately 8 years before the time adjustment buttons became to hard to push in order to change the time. Besides the gimmicky bed shaker, which I do not use, and having to go through 24 hours when set time is passed, it is a good alarm clocks. The build of this clock will have you believe it would fail sooner and I catch myself treating this clock as if it where delicate. It just feels as if it would tolerate zero abuse. The slide switch to turn the alarm on is touchy. When sliding it to sound only I often slide it too far on accident. This puts me into bed shaker mode and as i stated earlierI do not use the bed shaker. This alarm clock is loud and that is why it lives next to my bed. I do believe the accompanying flashing lights that come on when the alarm is triggered is also a selling trap as I cant recall ever noticing them flashing. To be fair I sleep in the daytime and wake while it is light. In my opinion I cant say it is worth the money you pay, but again, this is the second one I have owned due to never failing to wake me when set properly.

Yes this Item met all my expectations and I am quite happy with my purchase. The alarm is quite loud and the vibrating device is much stronger than what I believed it would be. While the alarm clock has many other features the instructions are very clear and the clock itself is set up so that it is easy to use and understand how to use all it's features.

This clock is getting rather mixed reviews and I was a little worried when I bought my first one about a year ago. I bought it for my son, who was a senior in high school. He slept through all of the alarms that I bought at Wal-mart for him. He would then be late (or not go) to school and the principal would call me to ask where he was. (I swear the principal had me on speed dial!) After I gave my son this alarm he never slept through his alarm again. He did leave school early on numerous occasions (and the principal kept me on speed dial) but an alarm clock can only do so much at helping with parenting. (He graduated, thank God, and uses the alarm to wake-up for work now.) My son's alarm has worked perfectly since the day it arrived, so I had no qualms in deciding to buy one for myself last April. I am hard-of-hearing and I like the vibrating disc that goes under my mattress. It wakes me up right away. I don't even put on the noise--just the vibrator. It works great! It has gained 2 minutes in 5 months. I think people should READ THE DIRECTIONS and set the switch on the back for USA electric currents! My son-in-law and daughter sleep through their alarms all the time--even when they have 2 or 3 of them set! I gave them my Sonic Bomb alarm clock 3 days ago and he has woke up on time every day since! That is why I am purchasing my third one today. I need another one for me. These alarm clocks are great and I highly recommend them to heavy sleepers, hard-of-hearing, or even profoundly deaf people. There are some features the clock has that are not mentioned in the description of the clock: 1) It has battery back-up--so when the electric goes out (ours goes out about 15 times a year) the clock still keeps time. 2) The alarm has the ability to be on just noise--really loud annoying beeping, which can be adjusted for loudness and tone (for hard-of-hearing people who hear some tones and not others)Or you can put it on just vibrate--for people like me who don't like to wake-up with adrenaline pumping through my body. Or you can really juice it up by putting on the noise AND vibrate your bed, which my son and son-in-law both use to wake-up. 3)It also has flashing red lights that go off when the alarm does to help people wake-up. I do not have anything bad to say about the clock. I highly recommend buying one. Just make sure to read the directions pertaining to the switch on the back about setting it for which country you will be using it in. i adore this clock. i have a couple complaints about it, but i’ll start with what i love. i call myself a sleep addict— when i’m asleep or half-awake, i will do ANYTHING for just five more minutes. so if an alarm isn’t loud enough to force me awake, i will snooze it in my sleep over and over and over again. before i got the sonic boom (which i realize is actually called the sonic bomb, but i misread it when i bought it and have just been calling it the sonic boom), i would put my alarm clock or phone across the room to try to force myself to get up to turn it off. no dice— i sleep with fans and a white noise machine and nothing was loud enough to wake me up from that distance. enter, the sonic boom. it is truly like a fire alarm going off in my room. i’ve had it for months now and still, every morning when it goes off, i bolt upright out of bed to turn it off. one morning i even actually body checked my bookshelf in my haste to get out of bed. it is tremendously loud, even from across my bedroom, and even through all the fans and white noise i sleep with. before i got it, waking up in the morning felt like something in which i had no control. nothing could wake me up, and nothing could force me to actually get out of bed. so i’d snooze my alarms until eventually waking up enough to realize what time it was, and then panic over how late i was. now, i feel like i have control back! i have something that will consistently MAKE me wake up, and actually wake up, not just the half asleep version of myself that will do anything for five more minutes of sleep. to warn fellow apartment dwellers, it IS loud enough that your neighbors will hear if you have thin walls. (thankfully i don’t) my one complaint with this alarm clock is how irritating it is to set the time / adjust the alarm time. rather than changing the hour and then changing the minutes, there are buttons ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ and you have to cycle through all 60 minutes x 24 hours in a day. and if you’re holding down the ‘fast’ button and accidentally go past your time, you can’t go backwards, only forwards. on weekdays, i wake up at the same time so never need to change my alarm times, but sometimes on weekends, i need a different time. the irritation of changing the alarm time will often keep me from bothering to use the sonic boom for those days because it is such a pain to adjust. i honestly don’t know why they designed it this way; it’s infuriating. other than that one complaint, i am an absolute lover of this product. for all my fellow heavy sleepers, sleep addicts, and anyone who feels like they don’t have control over their waking up process, this is the alarm clock for you.

Small crack in the digital display. Don’t think I want to wait for an exchange as the other functions are ok and I need this alarm now. Hopefully seller can be provide more padding when shipping out item in the future.

I've finally found a better made alarm clock that wakes me up! This is the FOURTH alarm clock I am trying now as I had to return the first three for various reasons. I am quite deaf without my hearing aids. So, the vibrator inside my pillow as well as the loud lower frequency buzzer and flashing lights wake me up reliably. The cord attached to the vibrator is much more robust than one of the previous alarm clocks I tried; it was very flimsy and broke after only 2 weeks. I also like that the clock comes in a variety of colours. I got the burgundy red one which is fine as I don't like bright red and black colours. I love having my time in 24 hrs vs 12. Too many times I have set an alarm for PM by mistake rather than AM. As for negatives: I'm worried that the plastic casing will break sooner rather than later. I wish it was made with some stronger heavier materials in case my cats knock the clock to the floor. My previous alarm clock radio that I had for 15 - 20 yrs was made out of heavy duty plastic as well as some metal. Alas, the brand I used no longer exists. When setting the time or alarm, it would be nice if this clock had both forward and reverse settings; it's a pain if I go too far and I have to cycle for another 24 hrs to the correct time. The unique setting for the buzzer allows one to not only adjust the volume but the pitch too. Most hearing impaired people have higher frequency hearing losses and many clocks have buzzers that tend to be too high in pitch. This clock allows me to adjust the pitch to the lowest frequency and so, I use that as well as the vibrator to wake me; having flashing lights is also a nice touch. All of these alarm features really startle my pets too and they are my back-up alarm....
