I used BimmerGeeks Standard Tools on a Windows 10 VM on my Dell 5530 laptop running Ubuntu Linux and this cable. Setup was pretty straightforward (using BimmerGeeks 'Install Instructions.txt' file) and was able to connect after a little experimenting. Did not have much luck with the included software disk. The cable switch did not seem to matter on this setup for the E46 (2001 BMW 330Ci), but ended up with the switch to the left looking at the plug with the cable at the bottom. You get some error messages from the software which can be ignored, these threw me at first thinking it was the cable, but turns out things like language or version errors can be ignored, and if you see "no controller response" it means that the part doesn't exist, nothing wrong with the cable. I was able to successfully diagnose, replace and verify the DSC module on my car. Using the software, my engine is an M54 but I had to select M43 since M54 was not an option. For the DSC I selected Chassis, then DSCMK60. Press F1 for info, F4 for errors, and F5 to drill down to wheel sensors, DSC (steering angle, yaw rate, etc) and so on. Some nifty information there from the sensors while driving is pretty cool. All in all, not the greatest software, especially with the annoying language and version errors, but it's usable. Cable is fine, works as advertised and seems to be well made. Would recommend getting it.

Needed to program my 2006 325i. Found out I needed one of these cables and this was the one I decided on. Cable hasn’t failed my yet. Done multiple programmings and coding of modules, never once have had an issue with the cable dropping connection. Cable itself seems well designed and sturdy, the connectors have good strain relief and don’t seem like they’d break at all from normal use.

Works Great for 2007 BMW 335xi (N54). Used it to install xhp TCU Stage 3 Flash and MHD Stage 1 tune with no issues. Also used to monitor via MHD monitoring package, and all worked flawlessly, and car now performs amazingly. xhp TCU: backup = ~30mins install = ~7mins flash = ~1.5mins MHD : install = ~15mins flash = ~2mins Came with amazon prime next day shipping. Literally ordered the cables 24hours ago and now have a xhp stage 3 transmission flash and MHD OTS stage 1 tune, which woke up the 335xi to a whole different level. Also works with MHD datalogging. *Note: I had a battery charger connected and 2amp trickle charge during all flashing procedures.* I also bought: (UGREEN USB C OTG cable) along with the K+DCAN OBD cable which also came next day with the K+DCAN OBD cable https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072V9CNTK As another reviewer mentioned, when flashing with my particular model of BMW the switch on the cable is set all the way to the right. All flashing done with a Galaxy Note 9 + above mentioned UGREEN USB C OTG cable + this K+DCAN OBD Cable.
