Yeah, but...
I upgraded my tank to 150 gallons and was torn on using my old skimmer or upgrading. I had a curve 7, decided to go with the larger skimmer, curve 9. Omg, unpaking it I wasn't sure it would even fit, this thing is huge!!! I finally figured out a way to get it in there. It worked great (bought 2 years ago), and continued to function amazingly. I would up putting a co2 scrubber into the air it sucked in, and even found a way to put a reefmat down there with it. I cleaned it regularly and have raved about bubble magus to anyone thinking about a skimmer. 2 years in, I just took it out last night to clean it out, i do this about every 6 weeks. When I put it all back in, it did not come back on. After lots of troubleshooting the impeller is no longer spinning on its own. I can insert my finger through the intake and manually push start it. Uggghhh. Found out the warranty is only 1 year. A replacement pump is another $250. I am very disenchanted. I put my old skimmer back in for the time being until I decide what to do. It worked great for 2 years, I would have happily given it 6 stars... but only lasting 2 years is ridiculous. I'm not going to drop $400 bucks every 2 years to replace a skimmer... 2 stars is given for the years of service it lasted.
