Water proof for use in a pool?

It holds air, so it is technically waterproof. But not sure why you would want to use a camp pillow in the pool.

Does this pillow get hard when its cold? I often camp in the high desert where nights can be as cold as 30 degrees inside my van camper.

I’ve used this pillow in sub 30 temperatures and it does not get hard.
