A Flower Lens shade that does not darken/clip the edges while in 'wide angle' position on the Nikon P900 and probably others
Nikon CoolPic P900 camera with a UV filter. If you have this camera, this is the Flower Hood for you. NO darkening of corners even when a UV or other filter is used. Screw the adapter onto the lens or filter. The hood is tough plastic and has 4 nifty spring loaded ball bearings that allow the hood to 'SNAP' onto the adapter ring with just a little force. The hood can then be rotated so the longer protrusions are directly on the top and bottom. I found a little squeeze when pulling helps the hood pull free from the adapter. The hood can be reverse mounted on the Nikon P900 to save space in the camera bag. In both hood positions the 'original Nikon' lens cap works fine and so does the supplied generic cap. I've tried several 'flower lens hoods' and this is the first one that mounted very easily and did NOT darken the picture corners when zoomed back to wide angle (24mm). This flower hood works for the Nikon P900 and probably many other cameras. The lens cloth gets tossed in the camera bag with all the other lens cloths. Seems everyone sends them now days. The Lens cap and strap are another story. The cord is longer than most which is nice. Due to my impatience I had to enlarge the tiny hole in the cap with a fork tong (any thing like a jewelers screwdriver etc.) to make threading the strap easier. You may have the patience to thread such a small opening but I don't. Enlarging that hole was very easy. The strap will 'probably' work on most camera but gave me a problem on the Nikon P900 camera. Since I use a filter the front of the lens plus the filter extends out a tad. I wanted to put the strap on that 'tad' of the filter so if I accidentally zoomed and the lens extended there would be no problem with the cap popping off. The strap fitted the filter nicely BUT the piece of plastic that molds the strap to the elastic was a bit too large to allow complete retraction of the lens. If that piece had been slightly thinner it would have been perfect for my Nikon P900. It should work fine with most non extending cameras OR just remember to remove the cap before zooming and let it dangle. I'm not done trying to find a solution and will try a THICKER UV filter (two filters would probably work) that may give enough extension so the strap will work. I'll check my camera box for other 'cap straps' for a more narrow strap or might even consider filing it down (it did 'almost' fit). The Flower Hood adapter goes inside the Hood so it does not extend the lens. There is a single bit of instructions showing how to use the hood (forward and reversed) with 8 pictures. I am overjoyed with the quality and fit of the Flower Lens Hood and will leave it on the camera. The cap strap is a specific issue in how I want to use it on a Nikon P900 and not a reflection on the quality of the strap or hood. I notice some people are not aligning the hood properly and that may cause darkening of the corners. The LARGE PETALS should be at the TOP and BOTTOM. Just grip the hood after mounting and rotate. UPDATE: Check to see if the hood blocks any part of the flash (in your picture) when using the camera's pop-up flash which will depend on your specific camera/lens/filters combination. This hood when used at wide angle on my Nikon Coolpix P900 DID block some of the light and gave a shadow at the bottom of the picture. If I zoom in just a bit it's fine but there is an issue at wide angle on my P900 and the more filters you add the worse it will get however it's very easy to just pull off the hood by hand for those shots. Guess I can't have everything. LOL

Solved a real problem
I have a Tokina ATX-Pro AF 28-70mm f/2.8 lens that did not have a mounting ring for a tulip or flower style lens hood (early model of this lens??), leaving me with the only alternative being a round, screw-on 77mm lens hood. Since the end of the lens does not rotate, a tulip or flower style hood was what I wanted. I finally found this one listed on Amazon for a very reasonable price, and thought "What the heck, why not try it?" Works nice, and exactly fills the bill. 1st, it furnishes a screw-on mount to directly attach to the lens. The hood mound is larger that the lens, allowing sufficient room to conveniently add your lens filters. The hood has 4 securely mounted spring loaded tiny ball bearings to allow it to snap securely on to the ring, and be rotated to be properly aligned on the lens. When storing the lens, just pop off the hood and reverse it to store with your lens. When mounted, it looks just like a lens hood manufactured for this model that has the hood mount as part of the lens. This lens hood will work with any non-rotating lens using 77mm filters. And for about 9.00, it is one whole lot less money than the lens-makers over-priced piece of plastic. Need a good, quality lens hood for out doors or fighting glare from overhead show hall HPS and LPS lighting? Save some big bucks and get this jewel.

A very nice product that does the job for a decent price.
This seems to be a well designed reversible lens hood. Unlike some of these reversible tulip lens hoods that need to be unscrewed each time it is removed or reversed, this one attaches to an included ring that screws onto the lens and then the lens hood snaps into this ring and can be unsnapped to remove or reverse it for storage. There are three ball bearings on the inside of the hood that allow it to be snapped into place. It comes with a lens cap with a tether that can be attached to the lens, or you can use your original lens cap. Filters can be attached to the lens before or after snapping on the hood. This item also comes with a microfiber lens cloth. This is a very nice product that does the job for a decent price.

Nikon P900 camera precautions
Purchased this product for Nikon P900 Coolpix camera. Everything works just as the pictures in this listing show. However, since the P900 has a fixed lens there are some cautions prior to using this kit. First and foremost...attach either a UV or circular polarizing filter on the camera lens PRIOR to attaching the hood mounting ring to the lens. This is critical because using the hood kit directly on the lens can cause the lens to jam and malfunction. This is because when turning off the camera the lens retracts slightly into the lens mount. By using a 67mm filter first, there is no jamming as it retracts. Be sure to clean the camera lens and filter well before mounting. See photo 1 for Nikon warning. You may experience some difficulty attaching the hood mounting ring to a polarizing filter because of the rotating ring on the polarizer. It helps if you can find someone with small fingers to hold the polarizing ring in place while screwing on the hood mounting ring. Another caution to be aware of is possible vignetting while using this hood with the widest lens setting. I found no vignetting with the polarizer and the hood together as long as the wide parts of the hood is turned to be located on the top and bottom of the viewfinder. Be aware that adjusting the polarizing ring will also move the lens hood so check that before shooting. It is awesome that the manufacturer includes a small tool for use in threading the strap through the hole in the lens cap. Really made it a snap! This is so much better than the sticky adhesive spot in other kits, this won't fall off! The stretchy strap attaches perfectly to the P900 lens without any interference to the camera operation. Love that the hood works in the backward position for saving space in my camera bag. I highly recommend this kit for use on the Nikon P900 if used as noted above. (I have not received any compensation or freebies for posting this review).

Excellent Hood for the Money and its Easily Reversable
I was very please with the quality and the ease of use of this lens hood. I bought both a 72 mm and a 58 mm. They are made of thick matte black sturdy plastic which will take a beating, but will give before my lens does. There is a threaded adapter that the hood snaps (there are small ball bearings on the hood) on to, enabling you to reverse the hood over your lens for storage. A very smart option, as usually you have to unscrew a flower hood to put your camera in its case. The adapter arrives already mounted on the hood, so as soon as you screw the assembly onto the lens, pop off the hood. then finish tightening the adapter. The adapter has female threads on the inside to take a filter, and to hold onto the supplied lens cap. The only think I found useless was the lens cap they provided, as it came with a nice band to hold the lens cap on the lens barrel when in use, but you could not get the cord through the small hole that turned 90 degrees. The lens cap its self is fine, just not to thread that retainer cord through. I tried for 30 minutes, and finally found the cord fit my other lens cap easily, so I was able to use the elastic band with cord, just not with their lens cap. Because the hood is oversize to allow reversing, I had no issues with vignetting on any of my lens.

Decent hood that will get the job done
Pros: - It fits perfectly with a 72mm lenses (I have Sony FE 24-240mm). - The reversible allows for your camera to be stored in a more compact storage. - You can add on a filter on top of the lens hood adapter (I have B+W 72mm Clear UV Haze). - The cap and the microfiber clothe is a nice touch. Cons: - It does use a screw-on adapter that will allow the hood to "click" on it - The lens hood doesn't screw on like how Sony's hoods usually do. It simply pops in and pops out. - Though you can add a filter on top of the hood adapter, it's a bit difficult to screw on and off the filter. In fear that I may permanently get the UV filter to be stuck to the adapter, I couldn't bring myself to tighten it all the way. The design on this could've been better. Overall, it was a good lens hood -- definitely $10 well spent. But only problems that I have of are the cons that I listed above. Regardless, if you're looking for a cheap hood that will be bang for the bucks, I would recommend this product.

Good buy
This lens hood screws in perfectly on a Nikon P900, even with a UV filter attached to the lens, though it won't screw on in the reverse for storage. The lens hood itself seems thick and sturdy and does what a lens hood should - though I am a new lens hood user and not too sure I like them very much as compared to no lens hood at all (personal taste). The included lens cap works perfectly with or without the lens hood attached. I especially like that the included lens cap comes with a lens cap strap that features an elastic loop that lets you attach it to the camera, camera strap or anywhere else like your around your wrist (unlike the original manufacturer's lens cap). In fact, I use it instead of the original (which is much easier to lose as it does not attach in any way). Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Well made replacement for lost or broken OE lens hood, especially Sigma 17-50 f2.8 EX DC HSM
A heavy duty, well designed wide angle lens hood with a nice center- pinch lens cap included. I bought this set to replace the missing lens hood from a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC HSM lens. The original Sigma hood was very thin plastic and mounts via a bayonet ring on the lens. After a number of on/off cycles and the minor bumps of normal use, the mount tabs on the Sigma hood failed making the hood very loose and it finally fell off and was lost. Original Sigma hoods are $20-30 and poor quality. I read other reviews of this 77mm thread size Waka hood and figured I would give it a try. The Waka hood is two pieces, a 77mm lens ring which screws into the front threads of the lens and the hood with four spring loaded detent balls which grip the lens ring. You can adjust the hood so it lines up square with your camera and it STAYS PUT. On my 17-50 Sigma, the hood, while larger and deeper than the Sigma original, does not vignette at all. If it did, plastic is easily ground to contour. I highly recommend this Waka hood, especially since it comes with a good quality lens cap and a small microfiber cleaning cloth too.
