can the LED bulb/lamp be replaced when it burns out?

I don't think so, never thought along those lines before. LED lights typically have a couple thousand hours lifespan, typical ranges are 2,000hrs to 10,000 hrs. If same is thru for this unit, I did say it will be difficult or nearly impossible to burn it out

Can the red light be turned on and off without cycling through the modes?

The button for the red-red/green light is on the left side of the housing. Push once, red light, push again, red/green light, and a third push, lights off...The button on the right controls the four different white lights.
