Q: Do expansions increase the player count or is it always 2-4?

When I learned the game originally a few weeks ago, the owner of the game had 2 of the expansions. It mixed it up well enough that with 5 of us playing it was still a fun and not too slow game...even with 3 of us newbies! I could see playing with up to 6.

Q: Recommended ages are 13-15. I'm in my 30s. Is this game interesting enough for older players?

I'm 50 something and recently started playing it with my kids and grandkids down to 13 years old. We all love it. The expansions make it that much more awesome.

Q: Is this the base game or an expansion set?

This is the original mail game - not an expansion. Some of the expansions can be played without this game and all expansions can be used with it.I hope that helps clear it up for you.Dave

That's a tough question. Both are light games (meaning you don't need to go overboard with strategy/tactics), and both kinda fill the same niche as fun group games. I think it is kind of a toss-up between which they would like more. I know that isn't very helpful, but honestly you can't really go wrong with either one.
