It produces a very loud static noise in the headphones
It produces a very loud static noise in the headphones. The iOS plugin simply doesn’t work and I have to use the PC configuration. The sound effects buttons sometimes work sometimes don’t.

Wish there were a (Bluetooth) option.
Love it!! I only wish it had a Bluetooth option. I use this mostly around the house to organize tracks, play-around with beats/mixing combos and ideas. Being wired slows /affects my free floating.

SHOULD BE 5 STARS. However ...
As I got familiar with this product, I loved it SO much ... UNTIL the sound card inputs went bad. The RCA ports became totally unusably loose because of the cheap plastic board or attachments inside the unit. No idea why the sound card and the inputs attached to it are so cheaply made, especially since the feel and performance of the entire rest of the unit is almost rock solid. I loved the Reloop Buddy so much because of how portable it is and how amazingly functionally powerful it is in such a small package. You can REALLY DJ with this little powerhouse ... ... Until you can't. But at least there's the warranty. So I sent it in for servicing but couldn't wait because it was the middle of summer and I was in the middle of having pop-up DJ fun. So I ordered and received a SECOND Reloop Buddy just before I sent in the first one in the warranty service. Everything went well for a while and I even got the first unit back from warranty service (without charge) thankfully after replacement of the sound card. But then the second unit started to go bad exactly with the RCA inputs AGAIN, and this time also with the headphone input, which seems to be on the same sound card. So I had to send the SECOND unit in for warranty servicing and go back to using the first unit. Both units had to be sent in for warranty service after only a couple of months of regular almost daily use. But I am generally very careful with my stuff, and moreover I babied the second unit and incredibly gently used all of the sound inputs on the second one because I knew how delicate the first unit had been. This did not prevent the second unit from failing in the exact same way that the first unit failed. Even worse ... now the RCA inputs have AGAIN gone totally bad on the first unit and I'm now using the second reloop buddy which is having problems with a very fickle headphone jack at the moment. Thankfully the RCA inputs haven't given up on the second unit YET ... after warranty servicing and replacement of the soundcard and inputs already. I really hope that Reloop address this issue and just put a better quality sound card in there or better attachments holding the sound card in place ... Whatever. Just fix it and have the quality of the sound card and it's inputs match the quality of the entirety of the rest of the controller. It's insane to me that I am seriously considering ordering a THIRD unit just to have a tertiary backup for when the other units have to be sent for servicing of the sound cards AGAIN. But I have to admit that everything except the sound cards on the Reloop Buddy is just fantastic and I love it to death WHEN IT WORKS.

Make sure you are the right setup
Did not work with my android tablet so I had to return it. Return was easy and no problem.

Has potential but ...
so i wanted to like this little controller for portability sake. Said that here some issues which made me return my unit. 1. I have static sound when the headphones connected even no music was playing and that static noise got worse when faders got moved 2. The sound output over the RCA cable is bad. It is usable at lower levels but don't expect to turn up the volume since it will distort 3, The groove to hold the IPA is a nice touch but it be nicer if it had some additional grip or maybe some lever on the back so when you place the iPad inside it won't easy tilt over when you touch the iPad or some strong wind blows it away Suggestion. Since this unit is marketed to portability why not have a bluetooth option for sending the music to bluetooth speakers and allow pre-cue with bluetooth headset rather than have cables hanging off the side. Connection the iPad to the controller via short cable is no issue, but it's very easy for someone to trip over the RCA cable connecting to an amp and take down your controller and worse drop potential an iPad Pro on the floor same time

Cheaply made
Nice controller, cheaply made. Doesn’t work well with DJ AI Pro. Should be 1/2 the price. Stay away….

Its not a toy, its a very real and capable DJ controller which can give hours of entertainment in the right hands and mind. The Reloop Buddy is well built, quite robust all round with very well engineered implementation of all the units features and controls. A touch of history to bring things into perspective. In 2009 Vestax (now defunkt) released the Vestax VCI 300 a controller not much different to the Reloop buddy in size and purpose. Obviously some feature changes have occurred over the years between these two controllers due to software development but intrinsically they both serve the same purpose. The VCI 300 had a full metal body and TS balanced output but all in all thats where the main differences stay apart from performance features. The performance feature of the Reloop Buddy far supersedes the VCI 300 and as it happens so does the volume output I am glad to say. Now I have heard people saying that this controller is a little expensive, even well paid DJs griping about the price! I think thats unfair personally and the price of the Reloop Buddy is very, very good! If we again compare it to the lesser performing Vestax VCI 300 from 2009 then the price difference will make most peoples eyes water. The VCI 300 cost over £900 when first released, yep, over £900 nearly 14 years ago! So as a hobbie DJ like myself whom has been there before the release of the Vestax VCI 300 let me tell you, you are certainly getting your moneys worth with the Reloop Buddy. You are getting far more performance for your penny than anything else produced 10 years ago and at a fraction of the price. In regards to working with my ipad air 5, its seamless! I would recommend an Apple 10 or 12 watt charger (the older ipad chargers) they can be found on ebay easily enough and stick with the supplied, very nice PC/Power cable and your good to go! Pads on the controller are great, far better than the hard plastic buttons of yesteryear and respond very well. All the Faders don't feel cheap as they could but its pointless comparing to a modern £2000 rig! As the Buddy stands by itself its fine and with sensible use it will last a good few years. Its very much worth the asking price from Reloop and DJs whom have said it is not really out to be ashamed of themselves and probably need reminding of the older days of controllers and the performance and pricing. The Buddy is an excellent size for house parties, BBQs, mates flats and so on, even small public venues like bars and barbershops…why not? The Buddy is also powerful in output and I have no issues driving my AltoTX310 speakers with this controller, its loud and I am well pleased with Reloop for the output power. Take it from me this is a very capable unit and I have been messing with controllers since 2010 and have had almost every single one of them from all the manufacturers go through my hands at some point, so ignore the grumpy tight fisted gripes of some people and have confidence in your purchase especially if new, I say new because the 2nd hand DJ controller market is a minefield and can really dampen your spirit if your not experienced in buying these things and knowing what to look out for because these things do get bashed around in use and travel. In conclusion this is a well made, feature rich (especially for the beginner) very good actual sound quality and versatile unit that is fun to use and will last.

Sound output is horrible when used in iOS mode with Ipad. Only way to overcome is to connect Ipad through PC mode and add additional hubs etc.. Otherwise works well.
