Works well, best price I've found
I order a pack of these a few times a year. This is the best price I've found for these furnace filters. Good quality and they last for six months. Easy to install, and they seem to collect a lot of dust. They are always black when I replace them.
User
Works but is it better than the regular one?
Trying this one out for the first time. Seems to be the same as the regular filter. Not much of a difference.
User
The quality is very good.
This is my second purchase, and the quality is very good.

Substitute
Not as expensive as the name brand and works fine, good enough for me.

Absolutely amazing, high flow, high filtration, the charcoal works amazingly well
Truly an amazing filter, you can smell the difference. For years I've been using the AprilAire 410 and then 413 filters on my setup, which uses the 16x25x4" Aprilaire filter enclosure mounted vertically before going into the air handler box. Both filters have provided ample protection for the air handler and there is ZERO dust buildup on the coil, meaning the filters are doing their job of keeping dirt from getting onto equipment. I run the air handler fan on a higher setting to get past the pressure difference and have had zero problems with airflow and system performance. The byproduct of using a 4" filter means you get far greater surface area so better airflow. The AprilAire 410 is a great filter, the 413 is better, but the 413CBN charcoal filter is on a whole different level. The activated charcoal absolutely works and captures any odors and VOCs present in your house. I have multiple standalone air filters in the house, including expensive Rabbit Air units and multiple Winix units all with their own charcoal filters, but they cannot compete with this filter pumping 3 tons capacity worth of airflow CFM through an air handler which hits every part of the house. When walking into the house on a hot summer day, you are greeted with a crisp smell that smells like subtle ozone and zero scent of anything. When occasionally cooking, even with the exhaust fan, some odors always escape but are quickly captured by the filter and removed. The only downside is this filter costs twice the price and lasts half as long, but in my opinion it pays for itself compared to maintaining and replacing filters in multiple standalone air purifiers around the house. This filter alone will likely let me sell 3-4 standalone air filters and centralize my filtration capacity.I also like how they impregnated the activated charcoal in between two layers of white filter media. Other cheaper designs layer the activated charcoal on the top of the filter media and in the unlikely but possible even that the charcoal gets wet, it could block the filter or worse set send charcoal particles into your coil (if mounted horizontally underneath the coil). This happened with a generic 1" activated charcoal filter, but is NOT possible with this filter. It's really terrific design.
