What is the best front sight to match with this?

I have a GG&G 1281 Flip Up Front Sight.  They work well together.  Make sure that if you go that route, pick the sight that fits what your gun has.  Some gas blocks are lower than the plane of where the rear sight mounts.  If that's the case, choose the one that specifies "for gas block mounting."  Mine happens to be the same plane all the entire length of the rifle, so this one worked fine.  It's all aluminum and matches the finish on my rifle very well.  Flip ups are nice when you opt to run optics also.  Likewise, for red dots, it can cowitness if desired.  A good red dot will not require a cowitness.  The sight pops up with authority and locks in place.  Once locked, it's very solid and steady.  To fold, just press the button once more and fold it down...again solid engagement.  There are many other sights to choose from.  Some excessively high dollar ones that do the same job.  As a Soldier with over 24 years experience with this particular platform and various sights and optics, as long as it's zeroed properly and remains undamaged, it'll perform better than the shooter for years to come.  The front sight tool that this sight uses is the four prong one.  For only a few bucks, it's worth buying it as well.  The other option is to use a nail or the tip of a bullet to depress and move the sight as needed...usually causing little scratches where the tool does not.  Hope this helps. Does anyone know what grain (5.56) bullet matech intended to be used with the sight in order for the elevation adjustment to work properly?

For or all practical purposes, up to 500 meters it will work for all NATO ball ammo (M193, M855 and even M80).  Though it is technically calibrated for 62 grain 5.56 NATO SS109 projectiles, you will not see any real world difference if you use it with 5.56 NATO M193 or 7.62 NATO M80, since the difference between the three rounds drop at 400 meters is only four inches between them.   Which is why it is an excellent back up sight.
