Can't I just use a stick?

Yes you can use a stick :) But you'd be missing out on the rotator option, ability roast evenly without making a larger messy hole in your food, and it's also hard to find a stick as stiff and effective as a steel skewer...Plus you won't get to experience the customer service that we love to provide.
