Question 1

Is anybody seeing a difference in the size of the litter particles...  There are bigger pieces now and are sharp when I step on what is tracked.

YES!!! The last couple of bags that I ordered had big particles in the litter. One time even a piece a very sharp metal was in it. I was IRRATE. If my cat had of stepped on that, it would have seriously injured her paws for sure. So I contacted Dr. Elsey's directly to voice my valid concerns, with pictures of the metal and very obviously bigger and sharper pieces particles of blue crystals in the last few purchases of their litter. Their explanation was that its manufactured in China and usually inspected and safe. However, the pictures that I sent in contradicted that. They gave me a full refund (although that wasn't the issue, it was the principle) and said they would further their investigation on the litter!!! Ever since I've been ordering my litter from Chewy.com though, I haven't had any issues with the litter. My advice, call or send an email to Dr. Elsey's and make a complaint. Maybe they will actually do something about it if they get enough complaints. They may not care about our pets, but we do!!!

Is this litter one that cats easily hold in their paws? Is it one that they end up tracking all over the house?

No, this one stays in the box much better. My cat doesn't track it everywhere like he does the regular scoopable litter.

Question 3

Does this come in the box shown, like I can get at pet supply stores, or does it come in the bag?

It comes in the box but be careful if picking it up by the little handle on top--sometimes one side will break--inside, the litter is in a sealed plastic bag--my cats and I like this litter!

Question 4

Does it have lavender in the herb mix?

It does not list the ingredients, BUT by my nose I would say NO, no lavender. However, the attraction herbs work great.
