Light and Stylish
I got this umbrella in the dark gray and found it to be really sleek and sturdy, so I'd definitely recommend. It's small enough to fit in your bag and comes with a nice sleeve to carry it with. Note that it's not huge and is probably more designed for one person, but you can fit two people reasonably. Note also that the button on the handle opens the umbrella but does not close it; you'll have to press the button toward the top of the umbrella (but under the covering) and pull it in, but this isn't a big deal and works just fine. I see that other people have noted issues about the quality and about the umbrella holding up in severe storms. I've used this umbrella in average, everyday rain storms with some fairly strong wind (I live in New England, and it does get pretty windy downtown during storms) and it's held up fine, but I haven't tested it in a super severe wind storm. I will say though that if it is extremely windy, I would probably expect most umbrellas to struggle except for those that are designed in the extreme to be super wind-proof, and those often come with their own concessions (mostly in terms of appearance). Yes you're paying more here, but admittedly I think a lot of that goes toward the sleek design and the quality materials. I'd say buy this umbrella if you want a sleek, attractive, somewhat fashion-forward umbrella that you'll be happy to pull out in front of your friends and colleagues on a day-to-day basis and that will withstand fairly strong winds, and then have a less attractive but super windproof umbrella in your closet for those really bad days.

Really like this little umbrella.
This is my third Blunt umbrella. I had a classic (black) that was stolen, so I bought another Classic (in yellow), as well as this XS (also in yellow). As with its big brother, it is very well built, and elegant. it opens with a button, but it is closed manually. It comes with a pouch that is mostly black with the top edge of it being the same color as the umbrella (yellow, in my case). It is a nice touch, and is well made, but it fits the umbrella very snugly, and frankly, the first time I took it out, I decided it was too much hassle to put it back on, and so it now rests inside a drawer (not that that makes me umbrella look any less beautiful without it). The ribs are sturdy and there are more of them (it seems to me) than in a normal umbrella, which might account for how sturdy it is. I also love the rounded covers over the ends of the ribs, because they not only make the umbrella look more elegant, but they protect it (and its owner) as well. My only little quip is that it really is XS (which I suppose stands for Extra Small). I wish it was a bit wider in diameter, but all in all, it is the perfect umbrella to keep in my office at work just in case of an unforeseen storm.

Simply the best umbrella I have ever owned
Already holding up to high winds and rain in NYC spring with complete ease and effectiveness, the Blunt XS_Metro is a worthy travel companion and definitely a trusted member of my "keep dry" arsenal. Build quality is fantastic, with the manufacturer designing in extra reinforcements points for durability. The rounded edges are liberating in a densely packed city -- compared to conventional umbrellas there's very little chance you're going to accidentally poke someone's eye out. I opted for the orange and have zero regrets. It is a beautiful and eye catching color that isn't overpowering. The fabric of the canopy seems to shed water much more efficiently than other lower quality umbrellas. In a totally non scientific look around a few lobbies other umbrellas of this size looked water logged and had to be bagged so they didn't drip. The Blunt XS_Metro was effectively totally dry with a couple of quick shakes after more than an hour in some heavier rains. Is it expensive? In abject terms, sure it is more than a "normal" umbrella -- is it *worth* it though??? Absolutely.

Expensive, but a good umbrella!
I understand the hesitation in plunking down a bit more for a mere umbrella, but in my opinion, the Blunt gets many things right. Since everyone loves bulletpoints: - It's a nice-looking umbrella that comes in an assortment of fun colors. - Comes with a convenient carrying case that partially unzips to make it easier to stuff the umbrella inside. - Light and strong construction survived a nice, sunny weekend in Seattle (by nice and sunny, I mean rainy and a bit windy), and it didn't turn into an umbrella tulip. I haven't had the chance to test it in gale force winds, but really, if it's that windy, you probably shouldn't be wielding an umbrella anyway. - Blunt corners won't get caught in your knit sweaters or eyeballs, making the umbrella much less of a nuisance to you and the people around you. Time will tell if the Blunt will last for a long time, but for now, the Blunt is definitely worth the price.

... umbrella thrown away accidently and even though it looked terrible it was a great little umbrella withstanding heavy winds
I had a really old umbrella thrown away accidently and even though it looked terrible it was a great little umbrella withstanding heavy winds. I researched some smaller umbrellas and decided to treat myself to a more expensive one and took a chance on the XS yellow Blunt Metro Umbrella and couldn't be more pleased at how pretty and well made it is. I don't like big umbrellas since I live in a urban area where people are densely packed and moving around with a large umbrella is awkward. I isn't super compact but very light in weight and is just very handsome. I haven't tested it in the rain yet but it looks very sturdy.

I've had this umbrella for a few years now and it still feels like brand new. The quality is great and it handles wind much better than a regular umbrella. Worth the money.

Super parapluie. Joli design. Très bien présenté avec housse + boite. Semble bien résistant. De bonne facture. A voir à l'usage...
