Love this grill - yummy pork chops - easy to clean😋
This is an awesome grill. I don’t like an outdoor grill due to bugs, spiders..creepy. This grill cooks perfect seared pork chops @ 400 - 7 minutes each side. It is super easy to clean. Unplug the non stick grill top, soak it upside down in the sink in hot soapy water, rinse and dry. Wipe out the drip tray and wash in hot soapy water. Take 2 paper towels with hot water and soap to wipe down the stainless cover inside. 20 minute cleanup tops❗️I opted for the one without the window. You do need an exhaust fan to use this. It is awesome. I have also grilled this to grill chicken. Yummy 😋

Great outdoor grill taste right in my kitchen!
This product gives you the taste of outdoor grilling. No matter the weather it’s ready. Great for 1-2 people. Amazing there’s no smoke in the house. East to clean. Food cooks perfectly and I didn’t have to mess around with charcoal and lighter fluid and waiting an hour for the coals to be ready. Wish I had gotten it sooner!

Easy indoor grilling, just ignore the hype
Don't believe everything you read. The sticker on the lid of this appliance says, "Get outdoor flavor...indoors." Psychologically you may think it has "outdoor" (or charcoal) flavor when you see the grill marks on the food. Honestly, the food grilled here doesn't taste any different than any food cooked in an electric skillet or on a George Foreman grill, of which I have two. Collectively, they all work perfectly well, none of which provide a charcoal flavor. (What? Pretend it's charcoal? Oh. OK.) Where the Hamilton Beach unit really shines is in the clean-up. All the seriously contaminated parts can be detached from the unit for easy washing. To me that is SWEET! The grilling element comes off; the lid comes off; and the self-contained grease tray slides out. No kitchen countertop grilling appliance is easier to clean and maintain. It does have two design faults. First and foremost is the lid. Although it easily detaches—which is great for washing—, it has no stop or rest for it to sit upon in the upright position. Unless there's a wall behind it for the lid to lean against, you'll have to do like I do and put a box of Jell-O behind the unit for the lid to sit on while it's up. (Or have your spouse hold the lid while you attend to the cooking duties. Most people tell their spouse to get out of the kitchen!) Remember, if you lean it too far back, though, it becomes detached. The other thing is the grease tray. There's no detent to keep it from sliding out, such as when you're moving it or putting it away. If it happens to be full of grease and drippings at the time, you may be sorry. No, really! Aside from the fictitious claim on the lid, it's a rather fine addition to any kitchen needing a good electric countertop grilling appliance. I highly recommend it, notwithstanding the problematic lid—which does a great job catching airborne grease droplets, by the way—and the way-too-easy-to-fall-out grease tray.

LOVE this grill, no more using the big gas grill outside!
I'm recently cooking for just one again, and I love grilled foods... but pulling out the huge gas grill just to make one steak, one hamburger, or one of anything just seemed to be too much for me. Plus, my hubby always changed out the big tanks for me, and since I lost him, I just don't feel comfortable doing that myself. So, I decided to try one of those new fangled indoor smokeless grills. And I decided on this one because #1. I have never been disappointed with a Hamilton Beach product and #2. I liked the idea of the searing grill! I am very happy that I did choose this one! It works WONDERFULLY! The first thing I tried was a nice boneless rib eye steak. I followed the direction to a T, tested the internal temp before removing it from the grill, and I had the most tender, perfectly cooked steak! My next "test" was a bone-in center cut pork chop, along with a zucchini, onion and sweet potato to go with. Here, I made a mistake by not reading the instructions perfectly before hand, and I started the chop before starting the veggies. So, by the time my chop was done, the veggies were still a bit too crisp and undercooked for my liking. But that was MY fault, not the grill's. Third time was the charm, same ingredients only this time I tried a boneless chop. I started the veggies a bit before the meat, with the setting on sear... then added the meat, started the meat timer (NOT included, just my own digital timer), turned down the heat when I turned the meat and veggies... and ended up with a DELISH dinner, with everything cooked to perfection! And to my surprise, every single time I cook a chop on this thing I get a PERFECTLY cooked chop, tender, moist, and cooked to perfection! Next up was a good ol' hamburger. This thing cooks a delish burger in the time it takes to heat up my large outdoor gas grill, and I end up with a burger that is cooked to the doneness I want, is juicy, tender, and I didn't have to pull out that huge grill! One night I decided I just wanted grilled veggies for dinner, so I settled on sweet potato, tomatoes, sweet onion and green peppers. I DID add some flour to the tomatoes, but just seasonings on the other veggies. And again, everything cooked to perfection, tasted wonderful, and this has become an often cooked meal at my house now. I honestly use this grill at LEAST 3 times a week now, and the only thing I've made that was excellent was one steak, that was cooked to perfection but was just a lousy tough mess, and it was the steak, not the grill! Now, one thing that's easy about an outside, gas grill is clean up. Turn up that baby to high for a few minutes, then run a brush over it, right? Or in my case, and stainless steal scrubber that doesn't shed bristles that can get caught in your food. ANYway, clean up with this grill is even easier than that! A quick rinse under hot water and 99% of the burned on crumblies just rinse away, and a quick wipe with a soapy sponge leaves me with a perfectly cleaned grill. The drip try slides out and is just as easy to clean. The lid slide off and again, just a quick wipe with a soap sponge and it's good to go! I mentioned my new grill to a neighbor, and showed them a pic of one of my completed meals (yes, I take pics of my cooking!) and next thing I knew, she was asking me how to clean it properly, she went and ordered one for herself. And just so everyone understands this, the grill comes out of the appliance easily, just lift it up, and the removable parts all ALL able to be submerged in soapy water! She was afraid of getting the two pronged "connectors" wet, but you don't have to worry about that, the only part that can't be submerged is the actual body of the grill, the part that has the cord attached to it! I have since posted about my new kitchen love affair on a diet site that I frequent, and so far, 3 of my online buddies have also purchased this fantastic grill. And every last one of them thanks me every time they use it, saying it's the easiest thing to clean, that it does such a great job of grilling all their different foods, and not one of them has had a single complaint about this searing grill! And I do have to admit, my food LOOKS prettier when it comes off this grill than when I would cook on the big gas grill, the colors are better, less burned/browned, less overcooked, less smoky looking. Hey food appearance can make a difference in taste, too! So, all in all, I simply LOVE my searing grill. It makes everything easy to cook, from burgers to links to steaks to shrimp to veggies and even to tomatoes! I couldn't be more pleased with my grill. OH and I forgot to mention, I have NEVER had to grease this baby, no quick sprays of oil, no rubbing it down before heating... nothing sticks to it, which is why it is so very easy to clean! SO my food is also lower in calories, especially my veggies which I would always spray with oil before putting on the grill! Now, I just sprinkle spices and cook! I give this appliance 2 thumbs up and wish I had a few more thumbs to give to it!

Grilling indoors while on the move
I love this Electric Indoor Searing Grill. Already grilled two New York strip steaks and they turned out great. Not knocking it, but not an all over sear like a cast iron skillet provides. I’m going to try a press to see if that will assist in searing more of the steaks surface. Easy to remove grill plate and drip pan for easy cleaning. Would buy again.

This thing is amazing
Not a paid advertisement or anything, I just really like this grill. I'll admit it: I'm lazy. The last thing I feel like doing is babysitting some meat that is pan frying. I was also pretty unskilled when I bought this grill. My pan fried food never came out just like I wanted. So, I bought this grill. It's a godsend. Just select the correct temperature based on the little guidebook they give you in the instruction manual, flip it halfway through (and sometimes change the temperature), and you're all good to go. Once I started getting better at cooking, I especially appreciated how "set it and forget it" this thing was, because I started getting busy making sides and sauces. It makes cooking accessible when you're busy with other things in the meal. A few months ago, my doctor also informed my husband and I that we have borderline high cholesterol. We immediately stopped eating red meat and stopped pan frying completely. We started eating a wide variety of fish, which still works great on this grill. And it's a lot more healthy - if you cook something and pull out the drip tray after, you can see all the fat that came off in the cooking process. Yes, you can use a nonstick pan and avoid some of the added oil, but in the end, the meat is still frying in its own fat. The ease of cooking also made me more likely to cook at home and less likely to eat out (saving money and losing weight!) If I'm too stressed or busy, I know I can throw rice in my rice maker and meat on the grill (and some veggies in the oven if I'm feeling especially fancy) and dinner will essentially cook itself without much input. Just make sure you keep the little book guide for temperatures and times or write it down somewhere. Technically you can probably find it online, but I found it much easier to just have it in front of me. Eventually I started to memorize the contents. The book isn't super extensive (like, I had to search online for the temp and time for my thick swordfish) but a little research online and a meat thermometer will help. Best paired with a meat thermometer (the guide tells you the ideal meat temp) and that Dawn power spray stuff. I just throw the grill pan and drip tray in the sink, spray the crap out of it with the power spray, let it sit for a about five minutes, and rinse. Super easy clean up. The top half is also removable to easily clean. I clean it after every use, but technically you could probably get away with a few uses without cleaning. Basically, this enables busy or unskilled people to cook meat in a healthy way with ease. And if you're lazy like me, you will love it too.

Not smokeless but cooks well. Use it outside if you don’t want to smell up your home.
Writing this review because of the people who said it’s smokeless. I’ve used it twice now. (Burgers and a steak). Smokeless … That is not even close to the truth. I will not be using this in my house again because I had to open doors and windows (in winter) to clear the smoke out, even with my hood vent turned on high. Thought my smoke alarm was going to go off. My house smelled like grilled food for hours. My kitchen was like a dense fog. Outside of the smoke, it works good and is easy to clean. Love the extra large grease bin. And cooks great.
