How long will it run on a set of batteries? Curious since I'm planning a cross country trip.

No set time. One reason is that cold weather adversely effects battery strength. On cold mornings you can put them in a pocket close to your body and they will 'rejuvenate their strength. Additionally, run time fluctuates depending on the setting as the random setting uses more battery power. Take plenty of 'name brand' batteries on you trip and if in cold weather put them in you sleeping bag close to your body heat while you sleep.

What is the distance difference between the 2 nuts?

I just measured 2" center to center of the screws.It is a little hard to measure exactly because it is on my bike and difficult to get the ruler in.Hope this helps.The light is okay, not as bright as I would like, but fine for night use.

Will this work on a rear trunk rack for an Electra Townie?
