If you punch through thin ribbon; it will get stuck in the punch. I don't know about the burlap.

最初に買った値段から高くなってびっくりしている。壊れやすいので、買い直す度に高くなるのは残念。他のパンチより壊れやすいので、あまり高くしてほしくないです。デザイン自体はとても可愛らしく、気に入っています、詰まりを起こしやすくしぶくなりやすいので使い方が悪ければすぐにパンチできなくなってしまうという繊細なパンチです。パンチするのも、メンテナンスも、難しいです。

I am having a great time making paper flowers with this paper punch. It works well. It may jam occasionally, but I just "punch" any paper that is stuck and you are all set to go again. This is important if you have a lot of flowers to make! I think the quality of EK Tools is there and I may buy more.
